Description
Position summary / Main purpose of the role:
Want to join a design team, inspiring, enabling and empowering them to push the performance envelope to create the world’s most desirable audio electronics? Montréal-based Classé, a Sound United brand whose portfolio includes Denon, Marantz, Polk, Definitive Technology, Bowers & Wilkins, Boston Acoustics and HEOS technology, is seeking a talented and experienced technician to join the Classe design team. A passion for music and cutting-edge audio products is an asset.
Essential Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair products ranging from amplifier, pre-amplifier, surround sound processor and disc players Debug mixed-signal circuits by using various tools (multimeters, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, etc) Internal organization support over email and telephone Construct test jigs for prototyping and repair Disassemble and assemble products for updates and repairs Product feature and user interface testing Maintain engineering component library Support customer support agents with technical aspects of service incidents Write technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations for consideration by engineers in broader determinations affecting system design, assembly, maintenance, and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
B. Eng degree in Electrical / Electronics or
DEC, AEC or equivalent degree in electronics with 2 to 4 years’ experience in an electronic technician role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in analog / digital electronics with specific emphasis on the audio realm Able to prepare procedures, technical documentation and test plan documentation for factory and engineering. Exceptional soldering ability Able to contribute to the development of test fixtures. Able to communicate effectively in English (spoken and written). A good technical understanding of complex, modern audio / video home theatre system setups. Good troubleshooting skills Good organizational skills. The love for high-end audio.
