We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.</p>\n<h2>Description</h2>\n<p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists in the examination and treatment of patients under a physician's direction. </li>\n <li>Obtains vital signs and patient information for inclusion in the patient's medical record. </li>\n <li>May give injections or treatments, perform routine laboratory tests under the direction of an attending physician, and assist in other patient care activities such as dressing changes and leg wraps. </li>\n <li>Prepares treatment room for examination of patient. </li>\n <li>May assist with physical examinations by preparing supplies and handing instruments/materials to the doctor as directed. </li>\n <li>Provides patients with basic instruction and information regarding examination procedures. </li>\n <li>May operate an x-ray, EKG, or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests. </li>\n <li>Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments; observes the principles of sterile technique in performing duties. </li>\n <li>Schedules patients for tests and completes required forms for lab work. </li>\n <li>Maintains accurate and complete patient records/documentation. </li>\n <li>Orders, stocks, and inventories supplies and assists in performing clerical duties. </li>\n <li>Performs related responsibilities as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>A high school diploma or equivalent. </li>\n <li>Positions in this classification may require successful completion of a medical assistant training program.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
