Our orthopedics department is consistently recognized as a leader in pediatric orthopedic care. Our other treatment services include rheumatology care and specialized plastic surgery.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Job Overview</h2>\n<p>Shriners Children's Twin Cities has an opportunity for a Per Diem Child Life Specialist to join our team!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Child Life Specialist Provides evaluation, therapeutic play, preparation, procedural support, special events and reintegration programming.  The Child Life Specialist is responsible to work with children, from infancy through adolescence, in a family centered care environment. This position provides services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The Specialist utilizes these practices in an effort to facilitate coping techniques and promote normal growth and development of the patient and family.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The pay range for this position is $25.34 hourly to $38.02 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs an individualized assessment to college comprehensive and accurate data necessary to assess development, temperament, coping style, medical plan, cultural preferences and practices and available social supports in order to develop an individualized development plan.</li>\n <li>Plans and implements an individualized treatment plan that identifies goals and evidence based treatment intervention strategies</li>\n <li>Participates in interdisciplinary patient care planning</li>\n <li>Utilizes the EMR to document relevant patient and family information</li>\n <li>Plans, implements or assists with camps/workshops/special events.  </li>\n</ul>\n<p>This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education</strong></p>\n<p>Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development or related field required</p>\n<p>Masters degree in Child Life, Child Development or related field preferred</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Certification/Licensure</strong></p>\n<p>Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), or be eligible to sit for the certification exam.  </p>\n<p>Must obtain CCLS within six months of hire.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience</strong></p>\n<p>One year’s experience in a hospital child life program preferred</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>CPR/BLS per facility policy</p>\n<p>Valid Drivers License per facility policy</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Shriners Children’s is an EOE/Drug-Free, Smoke-Free Workplace.</em></p>",
