    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span>Northwest Mississippi Community College is seeking a knowledgeable and committed EMT-Basic Instructor to teach in our evening program. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, guiding hands-on skills development, and supporting students as they prepare for entry-level certification and practice. The instructor will uphold the professional, academic, and safety standards of the School of Health Sciences and the Mississippi State Department of Health, Bureau of EMS.</span></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span><strong>QUALIFICATION:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Current National Registry certification as an Advanced EMT or higher (Paramedic preferred).</span></li>\n <li><span>Current Mississippi EMS license at the Advanced EMT level or above.</span></li>\n <li><span>At least two years of field experience as a licensed EMS provider.</span></li>\n <li><span>Current CPR (AHA BLS) certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.</span></li>\n <li><span>Strong communication skills and the ability to teach and evaluate EMS skills effectively.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Current Paramedic National Registry and Mississippi licensure.</span></li>\n <li><span>Previous teaching, training, or preceptor experience in EMS or related clinical settings.</span></li>\n <li><span>Experience with Canvas or similar learning management platforms.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>WORK SCHEDULE:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Evening classes typically meet two nights per week.</span></li>\n <li><span>Additional time may be required for skills evaluations, meetings, and program coordination.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span>&nbsp;</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<p><span>Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:&nbsp;</span></p>\n<ol>\n <li><span>Provide evening instruction in both classroom and skills-lab settings for the EMT-Basic curriculum.</span></li>\n <li><span>Assess student performance through written examinations, skills check-offs, and competency evaluations.</span></li>\n <li><span>Ensure compliance with all state, institutional, and accreditation requirements.</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintain accurate and timely documentation of grades, attendance, and student progression.</span></li>\n <li><span>Foster a respectful and supportive learning environment that reflects NWCC’s expectations for professionalism and student success.</span></li>\n <li><span>Collaborate with the Program Director regarding curriculum delivery, instructional needs, and student issues.</span></li>\n <li><span>Other duties as assigned by the Director of Emergency Medical Technology (EMT).</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span><strong>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Ability to take initiative to solve problems.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Experience using technology, Microsoft Office Suite, presentation software, etc. &nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the general public.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Ability to collaborate with others and work as part of a team.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Demonstrate oral and written communication skills to interact with a wide range of diverse individuals.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Flexible schedule is required to meet department needs, as some evenings and extended hours may be required.&nbsp;</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:</strong></span></p>\n<p><span>While performing the duties of this job, the Instructor is regularly required to do the following:</span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Stand for long periods&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Talk, hear, view,&nbsp;and assist students&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Communicate with others in person, telephone, zoom, &amp; live chat</span></li>\n <li><span>Sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms</span></li>\n <li><span>Stand, walk, stoop, or kneel</span></li>\n <li><span>Occasionally lift and/or move items of at least 15-20 pounds</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span><strong>APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:</strong></span></p>\n<p><span>To apply, interested must submit and attach the following:</span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Application at </span><a href=\"http://www.northwestms.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span>www.northwestms.edu</span></a><span> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Resume or Curriculum Vitae</span></li>\n <li><span>Proof of current licensure&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Transcripts</span></li>\n <li><span>Three (3) Professional References (Name, Organization, Phone Number and Email Address)<strong>&nbsp;</strong></span></li>\n</ul>",
