Description

Position Summary: Certified Electricians (Journeyman) will work on electrical breaker boxes and cables, some mechanical skills. Electricians - Mechanics will adhere to and comply with service bulletins, diagnostics, and troubleshooting GSE. This role covers maintenance and repair of a broad range of ground support equipment, including but not limited to electrical splitter boxes, boom lifts, scissor lifts, air compressors, and 400 Hz generators. All technicians will report directly to the Shop Manager. Position is based at San Antonio Port Authority. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, mechanical, and HVAC discrepancies on various Ground Support Equipment (GSE) systems and subsystems. Re-wiring electrical splitter-breaker boxes to code, repairing various electrical issues on ground support equipment. Meticulously document all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions utilizing computer-based Maintenance Information Systems (MIS). Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies and reduce downtime. Strictly adhere to common aviation practices of Tool Control, FOD Prevention, Safety, and Parts Accountability. Strict adherence to all environmental safety and regulatory commissions, including (but not limited to) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Ensure proper safety while operating equipment on-site. Implementing and enforcing quality control and safety measures during repair and maintenance activities. Perform routine housekeeping duties, including cleaning work area, toolboxes, and company vehicle(s). Professional interaction and coordinating with internal departments and external customers.
