As someone in long term recovery, the Peer Recovery Coach uses their lived experience to help clients navigate treatment, access community resources and build skills for long term recovery.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Supervisory Responsibilities: None</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Duties/Responsibilities:</em></strong></p><ul><li>Support and adhere to the NPI Code of Ethics, work rules, policies, plans and procedures to promote a safe and secure environment for the residents, visitors and employees of New Paths. &nbsp;</li><li>Serve as a role model of recovery and provide hope, encouragement, and support to individuals beginning or continuing their recovery journey.</li><li>Assist clients in developing recovery goals and wellness plans quarterly.</li><li>Help individuals in recovery navigate systems of care, including but not limited to treatment, housing, employment, and social services.</li><li>Facilitate recovery-focused group discussions and one-on-one peer sessions.</li><li>Encourage and support clients in building recovery support networks.</li><li>Maintain documentation of services and client interactions in accordance with agency and privacy standards.</li><li>Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care.</li><li>Participate in ongoing training and supervision to maintain certification, efficiency and effectiveness.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Meet required deadlines for all services provided.</li></ul><p><strong><em>Qualifications:</em></strong></p><ul><li>Must be in active recovery from substance use for a minimum of 3 years.</li><li>Ability to maintain boundaries and handle situations confidentially.</li><li>Strong communication, verbal, listening and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google or related software. (EMR)</li><li>Ability to work independently.</li><li>Understanding of recovery principles, harm reduction, trauma informed care, and cultural competence.</li><li>Skill in communicating with a variety of people from various backgrounds</li><li>The ability to work in a team.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to deliver information and services in a timely fashion.</li><li>Exhibit problem solving and conflict resolution skills.</li></ul><p><strong><em>Education and Experience:&nbsp;</em></strong></p><ul><li>High School diploma or GED</li><li>Peer Recovery Coach certification through CCAR or MDHHS</li></ul><p><strong><em>Physical Requirements:</em></strong></p><ul><li>Prolonged periods of sitting, standing and walking.</li><li>Must be able to go up and down stairs.</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
