Overview NV5 provides engineering and consulting services to public and private sectors, delivering solutions through five business verticals: Construction Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, Utility Services, Program Management, and Environmental. We are looking for passionate, driven individuals to join our team focused on Delivering Solutions and Improving Lives . NV5 is seeking an Geotechnical Engineer for our Charlotte, NC location. Responsibilities Lead and manage the geotechnical engineering team, providing technical guidance and mentorship. Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of geotechnical investigations and analyses. Develop and review geotechnical reports, proposals, and project documentation. Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success. Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess soil and rock conditions. Utilize advanced geotechnical software for modeling and analysis. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Participate in business development activities, including client meetings and proposal preparation. Stay updated with the latest advancements in geotechnical engineering and incorporate them into practice. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field (master’s or Ph.D. preferred). Professional Engineer (PE) license required. (or ability to become registered in North Carolina within 3 months of hire). Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery. Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, and foundation design. Demonstrated above-average technical capabilities and working knowledge of basic geotechnical software (LPILE, FB-DEEP, SPW911, SETTL3D, SLOPE/W etc). Geotechnical numerical modeling skills a definite plus. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
