As a leader in children’s health, we engage in meaningful programs and partnerships throughout the region so that we can improve the lives of children beyond the walls of our hospital.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is recruiting a full-time board certified/board eligible general pediatrician at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with strong clinical skills and an interest in academic medicine. The candidate will participate in clinical, educational, and quality improvement initiatives within the Division. Mastery of skills such as professionalism, team-based care, care of children with medical complexity, and effective communication are mandatory.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Division is made up of a highly collegial, well-established group of greater than 40 physicians, 6 hospital medicine fellows, and several advanced practice nurses. The Pediatric Associate in Hospital Medicine position will start as a 100% clinical role, with schedule flexibility between days, nights, and weekends. The clinical practice is primarily at our tertiary care facility described below. There will be additional opportunities to work at our CMH community site, which is also included below.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Children’s Mercy Hospital is an urban, tertiary care/academic children’s hospital with full pediatric medical/surgical support. The Pediatric Associate in Hospital Medicine will participate in 24/7 direct care on a hospitalist-only team comprised of medically complex and diverse general pediatric patients.  Medical students may be part of the team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Children’s Mercy Kansas is a unique, free-standing community children’s hospital located 12 miles southwest of Children’s Mercy Hospital. The hospital serves a breadth of pediatric diagnoses with lower acuity than our main campus.
