Even if you feel like you don’t meet all the criteria, please give it a shot, and still apply.  </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Basic Function</span> </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and associated scope required for </span><br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">projects of varying complexity based on client specifications and in support of the Sales and Operations, </span><br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">requiring minimal oversight and supervision.</span><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Evaluate bid instructions and requirements with specifications for projects selected to bid</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Support the Lead Estimator in the set-up of the estimate, estimate schedule, and responsibility matrix</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Work with sales team to determine extent of required bid scope, format and strategy to effectively estimate and sell the project</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Read and interpret drawings and project specifications</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Perform organized material take-off of all materials supplied under scope of work by Dave Steel Company</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Utilize Building Information Models (BIM) for quantity take-off and visualization where possible to support preparation of a complete estimate</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Evaluate and determine labor requirements of materials fabricated</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Incorporate all addendums, RFI and any other project updates during the course of estimate</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Identify risks/opportunities associated with contract/project documents, project-specific requirements</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Make recommendations for appropriate suppliers and subcontractors to assist with most competitive pricing</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Request quotations from appropriate suppliers for items not fabricated or services not provided by Dave Steel Company, maintaining communication with suppliers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Identify scope gaps and overlaps between DSCO furnished items and suppliers, coordinating with others</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Build relationships with material suppliers, erection &amp; misc metal subcontractors to achieve best price</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Evaluate supplier quotations for conformance to the bid documents</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Organize and present complete direct costs to execute the project in DSCO standard pricing summary</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Organize all takeoffs and costs consistent with customer requested pricing format outlined in bid documents or as agreed with sales</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Develop proposals in conjunction with the salesperson per DSCO standards and bid requirements</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Participate in internal estimate review meetings</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Effectively interface with Project Managers, Purchasing, Detail Coordinators and all of Operations</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Participate in project turnovers to Operations following successful award of a project to convey all knowledge associated with the scope and pricing of the project</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Prepare estimates and supporting backup information to support proposed change order work required by project managers and Operations</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Communicate status of work as relating to specific deadlines and scope of work with Estimating Manager and sales team</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Make recommendations for pricing database changes</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Make recommendations for software upgrades and changes / assist with development of estimating procedures</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Special project management, project tasks and sales as required</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
