We are looking for a Brake Press Operator to support our team at our location in Cranston, Ri. EMI, an LSI Industries company, is trusted by North America’s leading grocery and retail brands to create innovative and eye-catching display fixtures and millwork. For more than 30 years, EMI has been designing and manufacturing its display fixtures across North America. Summary: Operate Press Brakes and monitor parts and machine to assure that the parts are being produced to the specifications described when a set/up person assigned the task, as well as to monitor the function of the machine to be sure it functions as shown. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Observe all safety rules keeping all body parts out of any pinch points Notifying the lead or set/up person of any changes observed while operating the press. Inspect parts as shown and alert lead or set/up person if anything changes. Keep track of the quantity of parts ran and the length of time on the work order as well as noting any mistakes (scrap). KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS : Builds Strategic Working Relationships – Develops and uses collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals. Builds Trust – Interacts with others in a way that gives them confidence in one’s intentions and those of the organization. Decision Making – Identifies and understands issues, problems and opportunities, compares data from different sources to draw conclusions; uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; takes action that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences Planning and Organizing - Establishing courses of action to ensure that work is completed efficiently. Initiates Action – Takes prompt action to accomplish objectives; takes action to achieve goals beyond what is required; is proactive. Customer focus - Making customers and their needs a primary focus of one’s actions; developing and sustaining productive customer relationships. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardize situations. P HYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk: use hands to finger, handle, or feel and to talk and or hear The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
