The SHE professional will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts at the National Full-scale Aerodynamics Complex (NFAC).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The NFAC provides the United States with the capability of performing ground‐based aerodynamic and acoustic experiments at speeds from static to nearly 350 mph on large‐scale and full‐scale aerospace vehicles and components. Job board applications are not always compatible with company applicant tracking systems. **</em></strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>\n<p>The successful candidate will lead workplace safety, health and environmental  programs to maintain and promote a healthy and safe environment for staff, subcontractors and visitors. Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of safety policies and procedures, and provide education and/or training to help staff understand and comply with the requirements of workplace safety policies.  Inspect and survey areas and activities throughout the facility to minimize potential risks.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><em>Specific duties include but are not limited to:</em></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide safety and industrial hygiene support service to the NFAC team, interact with management, participate in planning meetings, review and approve appropriate documents, work plans, etc. to ensure safety is adequately addressed</li>\n <li>Develop and approve job/work hazard analyses for defined work</li>\n <li>Develop/provide training and education on health and safety policies and procedures</li>\n <li>Participate/lead incident investigations, including development of required reports</li>\n <li>Manage the facility's hazardous waste program, including collection, storage, and arranging for transportation and disposal</li>\n <li>Develop/maintain the facility's emergency response plan and coordinate implementation</li>\n <li>Manage facility physical security, maintain hardware and software database for internal badge access system. Respond to onsite alarm notifications and work with local base protective services.</li>\n <li>Perform and sign-off inspections of incoming quality noted materials.</li>\n <li>It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor of Science degree in a specialized scientific field (e.g., safety, industrial hygiene, system safety, engineering, process/mechanical engineering. In lieu of a degree, at least 6 years of related experience.</li>\n <li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance</li>\n <li>Current U. S. Citizenship required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Professional certification such as PE, CSP, CIH</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of California OSHA and Workers Compensation Regulations </li>\n <li>Train the Trainer certifications (MEWP, NFPA 70e, etc)Active secret clearance</li>\n <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Specialized knowledge of and successfully demonstrated experience related to: </li>\n <li>System safety</li>\n <li>A safety specialty (e.g., Personal Protective Equipment, lockout/tagout, fall protection, confined space, chemical & hazardous waste management, excavation, hot work permits) or engineering (e.g., civil, process safety, mechanical) or related disciplines.</li>\n <li>Industrial hygiene requirements and practices</li>\n <li>Safety management, monitoring programs, principles, and methodologies.</li>\n <li>Safety and health laws and regulations and applicable agencies’ permitting processes and responsibilities.</li>\n <li>Engineering, construction, and subcontract work processes.</li>\n <li>Knowledgeable in USAF explosive safety.</li>\n <li>Skilled in oral and written communication and knowledge of computer applications.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Who We Are</h2>\n<p>Beyond New Horizons (BNH) is a fully populated joint venture of Astrion and Fluor Federal Services, Inc. formed to provide unmatched Test Operations and Sustainment services for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex.</p>\n<p>We chose our name to serve as an enduring reminder of our commitment to AEDC’s rich aerospace research and development legacy anchored in AEDC’s Toward New Horizons founding study and the unprecedented opportunities to greatly expand AEDC’s capabilities and capacity Beyond those existing today.
