    "description": "<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p>Bath Iron Works (BIW), a General Dynamics company, is seeking a highly motivated, efficiency minded, and detail oriented individual to be the Senior Supervisor of Resource Planning.   Operating under the BIW Business Operating System (BOS), this individual will lead a team responsible to interface with Operations on all matters pertaining to our Earned Value Management System (EVMS) as well as maintaining the Operations staffing plan.  Successful candidates will be comfortable managing the detail budgeting of more than 130k line items across 10 in-process hulls.  Senior Supervisor of Resource Planning needs to build relationships with various levels of Operations Leadership from Front Line Supervisor to Director.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities</u></strong></p>\n<p>Safety Leadership:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversee a team of salaried individual contributors to ensure they perform their duties in a safe manner.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Execution:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervise a team of resource planners as they perform budget transfers, labor transfers, variance analysis reports, and staffing plan updates.</li>\n <li>Act as the primary point of contact for Resource Planning matters impacting both Operations and Program Controls</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain a dashboard and a VIZ board IAW the BIW Business Operating System (BOS) including a RAIL in SmartSheets for all muster issues.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with Program Controls to resolve EVMS issues and to maintain Operations’ Variance RAIL</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Training and Development:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Hold daily musters to promote team development, share lessons learned, and facilitate tiered communication</li>\n <li>Lead effort to cultivate and implement ideas that will improve overall efficiency on the team</li>\n <li>Ensure all new members of the team are properly on-boarded IAW departmental procedure</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Team Collaboration and Communication:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure resource planners have robust processes with necessary fail safes and backups for assigning the right tasks to the right individuals daily</li>\n <li>Promote open dialog with production control counterpart in support of the Operations Build Plan Review process</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Continuous Improvement:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Have an eye for continuous improvement on all projects in an effort to improve Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost, and People.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required/Preferred Education/Training</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field required. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required/Preferred Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>2 years of experience in operations or planning required</li>\n <li>Previous supervisory experience preferred</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process bottlenecks, analyze complex data, and make informed decisions.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, required to manage work assignments and performance metrics.</li>\n <li>Ability to summarize project status to report out to high level stake holders clearly and effectively.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team toward common goals.</li>\n <li>Strong desire and ability to collaborate and coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Excellent organization and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li>\n <li>Attention to detail despite a large dataset and a commitment to accuracy in meeting deliverables.</li>\n <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>\n</ul>",
