Description
We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, or Geologist to work in a technical support role in the field with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of environmental projects for a diverse range of clients. This field role is 80% in the field, 20% in the office. This is a full-time position located in our San Jose, CA office. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, you will: Conduct environmental field investigations and assessments of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, etc., using approved industry standard procedures. Conduct or oversee geologic site characterization including sub-surface explorations, monitoring well siting and construction, soil vapor probe installation, field sampling, and waste management. Conduct all field efforts in accordance with proposed work scopes and data quality objectives. Conduct field investigations independently while keeping project teams informed on progress, issues observed, and potential deviations from plans. Support with organization, reduction, and synthesis of project field data. Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities both in the field and during data evaluation. Apply academic training and use computer software to perform calculations and evaluation of information available site data. Draft technical sections of project communications and reports. Assist with the development of technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on small- to medium-sized tasks or project opportunities. Perform all work in accordance with company and client Health Safety protocols. Demonstrate our foundational safety behaviors. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Minimum Skills and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field. 0-2 years of related environmental consulting field experience. Proficient technical writing, verbal communication, reasoning, and time-management skills. Able to work independently or with minimal direction in performing tasks and assignments under the direction of senior staff. Desire to learn and grow in their profession, demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership. Experience with Microsoft Suite software. Preferred Skills: OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.
