Description
POSITION PROFILE (Job Summary)
This position is responsible for directing and managing the Community and Government Relations Department to build a strong TOTE brand in the community. The Community and Government Relations Manager works in conjunction with Marketing to develop and execute Alaska community relations strategies. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Corporate Responsibility Management System that includes internal and external components that align with business objectives. This position reports directly to the Vice President & Alaska General Manager.
Essential Job Responsibilities AND Results
Responsible for developing and executing the Community Involvement Strategy to achieve the highest value-added outcome for our customers, key partners and community members in Alaska and Washington while enhancing our brand to achieve long-term business success. Work with VP and AK GM to engage local government stakeholders. This includes but is not limited to Anchorage Municipality government officials, as well as State Legislators. Successfully execute the Communication Plan for the Marketing and Community Relations Departments to highlight TMAK community involvement both internal and external to promote brand awareness and ensure brand guidelines are followed. Assists with development of TOTE’s corporate public relations strategy Works closely with Sales Team to support and leverage Commercial strategies and execution Represent TMAK at external events, on Committees, Boards, and industry specific functions. Lead the organization and coordination of events inside and outside of the office in conjunction with the Community Relations and Events Lead (social events, customer entertainment, volunteer initiatives, high-level executive meetings). Direct and coordinate all in-kind shipping to include developing contractual agreements where necessary. Works cross-functionally to ensure a seamless customer service experience. Lead and manage Alaska Saltchuk Community Engagement Committee Advise Senior Leadership on key community relationships to maintain, attendance at external engagements, and general community involvement. Manage the Community Relations Giving Committee as the Oversite Officer by overseeing all charitable contribution requests and providing advice on best programs that align with company business objectives. Responsible for managing the Community Relations Department budget. Lead and administer TMAK’s Alaska Cares Program: an initiative to help boost employee morale through offering employee matching and volunteer grant opportunities for Alaska and Washington. Act as Community Relations Focal Point in onboarding new employees to educate them about TMAK’s involvement in the community. Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related preferred. 4-5 years of executive support and related experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, Skills And Abilities

Requires moderate use of personal computer (word processing and spreadsheets) for compiling reports, statistical data, composing memoranda and other similar documents.
