Job Functions: The Employment/Vocational Training Coordinator provides educational support for Metropolitan Ministries community clients pursuing professional credentials and job training. Essential Responsibilities: Completes assessments of the client’s education, work experience, professional skills, abilities, qualifications, and career interests. Assesses client readiness for education/training program. Provides clients with advice that includes career path options, education options, and goal setting. Meets regularly with clients to encourage, mentor, tutor, and monitor their progress. Advises the client of any changes to their education plan. Keep current and thorough notes on Monday.com and Clarity. Researches the availability of education programs that meet the client’s career goals and interests. Assists the client with completing the local training facilities’ application process and FAFSA, including obtaining a signed FERPA form, allowing communication between the facility and Metro Staff Plans, organizes, and delivers education/employment workshops in the community as needed. Provides transportation to education or employment-related activities and other agency-related events as assigned. Coordinates with Volunteer Leaders to facilitate tutoring and tutor one-on-one with clients when necessary. Collaborates with the Metropolitan Ministries’ Accounting Department to complete tuition, materials, transportation assistance, and/or supplies purchases. Collaborates with Metropolitan Ministries staff to advocate for the client’s education plan. Participates in Metropolitan Ministries holiday efforts, Bridge Builders, and other fund-raising events. Provides tours of the facilities and speaks on behalf of Metropolitan Ministries as needed. Meets professional development goals and actively contributes to the Adult Education Team’s key performance indicators. Supports the team and Director in other tasks as assigned.
