Includes assisting with patient intake, care coordination, and patient education while ensuring efficient clinic operations and exceptional patient experience and plays a key role in supporting patients through their pre-operative and post-operative care journey.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Patient Care &amp; Clinical Support</strong></p><ul><li>Welcome patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for visits</li><li>Take and record vital signs, weight, and body composition measurements, and demographic information</li><li>Obtain and record medical history, surgical history, verify allergies, update medication lists per clinic and departmental protocol</li><li>Prepares clinic summary forms for providers prior to patient visits&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare exam rooms and support providers during clinic&nbsp;</li><li>Clean exam rooms after patient visits per policy</li><li>Complete EMR documentation and fulfill MIPS requirements&nbsp;</li><li>Enter medication and lab orders and call results as guided by nurse / providers</li><li>Complete overdue task lists</li><li>Respond to prescription requests / refills</li><li>Assist with incoming and outgoing phone calls, including appointment scheduling and message triage, notifying the appropriate clinic staff member and documenting intervention</li><li>Process faxes, scan documents into the EMR, and manage incoming results or referrals</li><li>Maintain clinical supplies, equipment cleanliness, and regulatory compliance</li><li>Ability to work in multiple platforms (Allscripts, Athena, Epic)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Bariatric Program Support</strong></p><ul><li>Support patients through pre-surgical requirements and program milestones.</li><li>Assists with bariatric-specific assessments, including risk calculators/screening tools and questionnaires</li><li>Assist with scribing clinic notes to support provider workflow and maintain complete, accurate records</li><li>Support multidisciplinary team members such as front desk staff, nurses, dietitians, behavioral health, and surgeons</li><li>Participation in telehealth group medical visits and associated clinic work up</li><li>Participation in bariatric service line team meetings and accreditation surveys&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains bariatric clinic protocols as outlined by ASMBS standards</li><li>Reinforce patient education related to program requirements&nbsp;</li><li>Assist with order entry, lab tracking &amp; notification, &amp; any additional diagnostic testing under the direction of multidisciplinary team.</li><li>Support long-term follow-up visits and weight management program appointments.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Clinic Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare and stock exam rooms and maintain equipment.</li><li>Clean and sterilize instruments according to infection control standards.</li><li>Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.</li><li>Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Other Duties</strong></p><ul><li>Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Stand and walk for extended periods.</li><li>Assist patients with mobility and positioning as needed.</li><li>Lift and carry up to 25 pounds.</li><li>Perform clinical tasks requiring manual dexterity.</li></ul><p><br></p>",
