&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">REPORTS TO: Administrator, Lead Operator or Designee</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">SUPERVISES: &nbsp;None</span>&nbsp;</p></div><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong><u>GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Operates, and maintains the wastewater treatment plant&rsquo;s facilities.</li><li>Establishes and maintains effective sample procedures of plant operations and effluent.</li><li>Diagnose operating problems and directs and performs necessary corrective action during work shift.</li><li>Prepares required reports and maintains complete record-keeping procedures.</li><li>Assists in directing and training employees.&nbsp;</li></ul><div style='margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:10.0pt;margin-left:0in;line-height:115%;font-size:15px;font-family:\"Calibri\",sans-serif;'><p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><u>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></span></strong></p><ul><li>Performs any combination of the following tasks pertinent to controlling operation of plant as directed.</li><li>Responsible for the operation of a wastewater treatment plant or plant process on an assigned shift.</li><li>Performs duties of Lead Operator in the absence of same.</li><li>Gives instructions to plant operators.</li><li>Maintains discipline and ensures proper procedures are followed.</li><li>Performs operations and maintenance activities including taking samples and performing routine laboratory tests and analyses.</li><li>Inspects equipment to locate needed repairs and maintenance.</li><li>Makes process control adjustments, reads gauges and meters, records data, prepares necessary shift and log reports.</li><li>Determines proper chemical flow rates.</li><li>Participates in the technical training of plant operators.</li><li>Assigns operators to designated shifts.</li><li>Assigns replacement operators during emergency situations.</li><li>May be required to fill in for operators in their absence.&nbsp;</li></ul></div><p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><u>QUALIFICATIONS:</u></span></strong></p><ul><li>4-7 years&#39; experience in operating wastewater treatment plants</li><li style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><strong>Possess and maintain a valid state of CT motor vehicle operator&rsquo;s license.</strong></li><li>Thorough knowledge of computer operations and SCADA systems. &nbsp;Able to make spreadsheet and word processing documents, and enter information into data management systems.</li><li><strong>***Operator certification at a level required by the State and City (Class III).</strong> ***&nbsp;</li><li>Very knowledgeable of the principles and practices of wastewater treatment plant operations; operating principles of valves, pumps, and motors; principles and methods of water analyses, and bacteriological and chemical sewage analyses; effects and problems of industrial waste in wastewater treatment processes, principles of supervision and training;
