This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and growing team, and to tackle many of CT's local, state and federally funded municipal and state roadway, streetscape, bike facility, and safety, projects. Experience working with state and local transportation agencies, as well as an understanding of local, CT, and federal funding requirements is highly desired. </p>\n<ul>\n <li>2024 ENR New England Design Firm of the Year</li>\n <li>VHB Wins Seven ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards</li>\n <li>2024 ACEC Inaugural (DEI) Commitment Award</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p>VHB is seeking an individual to lead tasks and manage transportation projects within a team of highly motivated engineers. This may include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Leading a team of engineers to deliver multi-disciplinary transportation engineering projects</li>\n <li>Supporting the production of design plans, calculations, specifications, and permitting documents (including but not limited to highway/roadway design, complete street design, safety improvements, grading and drainage design, and utility coordination and relocations)</li>\n <li>Being a trusted advisor to the client, acting as the main point of contact for the client, design team, contractor, subconsultants, and stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Providing technical QA/QC</li>\n <li>Overseeing construction support services (review of submittals and RFIs)</li>\n <li>Assisting with business development activities and proposal writing</li>\n <li>Assisting with scheduling and management of project financials</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> Skills and Attributes</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of the policies, procedures and design standards of state and local transportation agencies (CTDOT)</li>\n <li>Knowledge of industry-standard engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil3D, Bentley CONNECT Suite , etc)</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite</li>\n <li>Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team and multiple deadlines</li>\n <li>Ability to lead and coordinate public outreach tasks</li>\n <li>Team oriented and motivated to lead/mentor junior staff</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills</li>\n <li>Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>11-15 years of civil transportation design engineering experience required</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required</li>\n <li>Master’s degree a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience)</li>\n <li>PE license required </li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Building what’s next, together.</strong></p>\n<p>Our people make the difference.
