    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>&nbsp;As School Nurse with <a href=\"https://www.fedcap.org/educational-services/\" target=\"_blank\">The Fedcap School</a>, you'll be a key member of a dedicated, robust team of professionals providing a holistic approach to education and support for 65 students with disabilities. You will participate in ensuring a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for all students as part of our Wrap Around Model that ensures a team focus to support and reinforces positive development in all areas of our students' lives.</p>\n<p><br/><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Respond to medical emergencies, administering first aid and assessing students for illness, including determining the potential of contagious conditions that require immediate treatment and isolation from other students.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Administer medication to students with ongoing health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, seizure disorders, etc.</li>\n <li>Conduct mandated screenings of vision, hearing, and height/weight.</li>\n <li>Implement care plans for students with physical and emotional disabilities, ensuring that appropriate accommodations are made in accordance with Federal law.</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate medical records, including updates of all immunizations and health screenings.</li>\n <li>Train school staff on a variety of health issues, and serve on school and district committees to address student behavior and achievement.</li>\n <li>Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding school health subject areas and make recommendations for changes when necessary.</li>\n <li>Function as an ambassador for The Fedcap Group<strong>&nbsp;</strong><br/>&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current New Jersey registered professional nurse license (RN) and Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).</li>\n <li>School Nurse Certificate from the New Jersey Department of Education including coursework in special education, public health, school nursing, and child/adolescent development and clinical experience in a supervised school nurse practicum.</li>\n <li>CPR and AED certification.</li>\n <li>Naloxone training and familiarity with New Jersey law regarding use of naloxone as part of a school district’s emergency response plan.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Two (2) years’ experience working in a school setting is strongly preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT US</strong></p>\n<p>The Fedcap School, an accredited private school located in West Orange, New Jersey, is the premier Behavior Modification Middle &amp; High School for students with disabilities classified as Emotional Regulation Impairment (ERI) in Essex County. We serve students ages 13-21 from Essex, Union, Hudson, Passaic, Monmouth and Atlantic Counties. We provide a holistic approach that&nbsp;meets the individual needs of each student, and our ratio of staff to students is 2:8, which allows small group instruction with environment most suited to support the students' Individual Educational Goals.
