Position Description:
The Assistant Designer is responsible for assisting in designing new concepts and designs for a product category within defined theme and seasons from concept through final delivery. Coordinate and deliver brand-right designs that tie back to the overall concept and business strategy, encompassing style, color/print and graphic design for new/existing product lines. Support research and interpreting fashion trends and consumer needs that uphold the integrity of the product lines/brand.
Responsibilities: Assist in conceptualizing and translating design trends into concepts and components of a seasonal collection Support researching trends and patterns for upcoming seasons; identify trends and apply them to product / label design Support partnership with Merchandising to ensure the integrity of the design is maintained during the product development process Assist in gaining approval from Legal and Regulatory on designs Assist in creation and execution of final designs Update design board layouts and printouts, including concept boards Create Design Turn Overs (DTO) and finalize artwork for hand-off to the Production Team Order Provide approved designs and design direction to mechanical art team for development of technical specifications Assist in reviewing mechanical artwork for final design approval prior to release
