The BEST work with us!</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>A nationally recognized comprehensive Health and Human Services Agency, with over 60 programs across New York City and the greater New York Area.</p>\n<p>Samaritan Daytop Village serves over 33,000 New Yorkers annually within your neighborhoods and communities so our success depends on those we employ.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>\n<p>Under the general direction of the Operations Coordinator I, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the specific Shelter program systems to ensure the security, safety, and efficiency of daily client services and activities. Responsibilities include monitoring and supporting all client-scheduled services or activities and ensuring that all are delivered as scheduled. In addition, ensures that all clients’ external appointments are kept, and efficient program activities are coordinated.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>**Please Note: Candidates Must obtain an FDNY F-80- Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems within 90 days of hire.**</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervises and monitors the environment to ensure that guidelines are followed and interpersonal relationships remain positive.</li>\n <li>Manages daily program schedule of activities. Ensures that events occur and all parties scheduled to participate in particular activities do so.</li>\n <li>Supervises and monitors the facility to ensure cleanliness, security, and safety practices are enacted. </li>\n <li>Conducts mandated fire drills/evacuations. </li>\n <li>When indicated as per program standards/policy, administers breathalyzer tests and/or observation of urine specimen collection from clients returning from appointments or other external activities. </li>\n <li>Conducts facility/safety runs and room checks to visually assess clients for use of alcohol/drugs or the environment of care for unsafe conditions.</li>\n <li>Reviews internal and external scheduled client appointments for assigned shifts and ensures that trips are dispatched promptly. </li>\n <li>Dispatches vehicles, assuring that required agency paperwork is complete and accurate.</li>\n <li>Distributes carfare for external appointments.</li>\n <li>Reviews the selection of appointment escorts for appropriateness.</li>\n <li>Complies with 42 CFR confidentiality and HIPAA privacy and security regulations.</li>\n <li>In the absence of the Food Service staff, monitor kitchen and food preparations to insure compliance with the Board of Health.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Who You Will Be</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or GED, required.  </li>\n <li>At least two years of experience in Human Services preferably in an agency delivering social services or a program for treating substance use and/or homeless.</li>\n <li>Must have FDNY F-80- Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems.</li>\n <li>Willingness to obtain CPR Certification.</li>\n <li>Willingness to obtain NYC Food Handler’s Certificate for designated single sites and per needs of the program.</li>\n <li>Available to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to participant and staff needs.  </li>\n</ul>",
