    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Wabanaki Public Health &amp; Wellness (WPHW) is growing, and we are excited to be adding new people to our team!</span>  If you value inclusivity, balance, and cultural centeredness and have a true passion for serving others, you may be a great fit for our team!  <br><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Summary</span>:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">As a Detox Nurse this individual must provide compassionate and culturally sensitive care to clients experiencing symptoms related to substance use, including withdrawal symptoms, cravings, and other issues that may arise. This individual will also provide support and counseling to help clients through their recovery process to include the administration of medications to manage withdrawal symptoms, make sure a client feels comfortable, supported and well taken care of throughout the detox process.  This position works collaboratively and efficiently with a multidisciplinary team and the client through direct care, transitional support, coordination of services, and referrals. This is a full-time position to include occasional weekends. Some travel is required.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Duties and Responsibilities</span>:</span></p>\n<ul></ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Assist with the nursing intake and assessment during admission - T<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span>his includes meeting with </span><span>client</span><span> and/or family as needed and completing the needed safety and suicide self-harm screeners.</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> </span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Process, manage, and implement orders from Licensed Independent Practitioners.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Monitor client’s vital signs as ordered or per protocol.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Dispense medications as ordered and per policy and procedures. Monitor and document all medication activity. Keep medication administration records (MAR) up to date. times, assuring accurate Medication Reconciliation and prescriptions for clients at discharge.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Observe, note, and report reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Document all client interactions, interventions, and on-going counseling services in the electronic medical record.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Order random urinalysis as per physician’s or licensed independent practitioners’ instructions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Update medical and clinical team regularly regarding all clients seen and coordinates client care.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Demonstrate adherence to accepted ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Provide direction to the technicians and nurses on assigned shift.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45)\">Provide emotional support through listening, counseling, and answering questions.</span></span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Consult with in-house staff and other outside professionals to ensure comprehensive, quality care for clients.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\"><span>Provide referrals for </span><span>identified</span><span> needs of the client to other WPHW services and/or to other Tribal or non-Tribal agencies as preferred by client.</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\"><span>Meet nursing operational standards by contributing information to the Program Director for strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Develop staff by orienting, training, and coaching employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to agency’s policies and procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Maintain documentation of patient care services by auditing patient records</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Maintain nursing supplies inventory by studying usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies; contacting Program Director for requisitions and cost allocations.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">All other related duties as assigned.</span></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Education and Experience Required</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Must hold an unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maine.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">One (1) year of detox, emergency or med-surge nursing experience preferred.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul></ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Experience working in Tribal Communities preferred.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul></ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Skills and Qualifications Required</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Working knowledge of the signs and symptoms of substance intoxication and withdrawal including pharmacological factors.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Must be able to physically respond to individuals’ needs in the event of a crisis situation. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, independently and embrace a culturally diverse setting.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to communicate ideas, instructions, and other information in a clear and precise manner using both written and oral forms of communication.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of the Code of Ethics for nurses.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of the federal drug and alcohol confidentiality law (42 C.F.R.
