Must be at least 18 years old. General understanding of the principles and mechanics of gasoline, diesel, and small engines, including both 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines. Familiarity with occupational hazards and safety protocols in the workplace. Ability to operate motorized equipment efficiently. Proficient in using standard hand tools and equipment. Assist in identifying and diagnosing issues in maintenance equipment, as well as making necessary adjustments.&nbsp; Scheduled shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with weekends as needed. Start times may vary based on department needs and special events. This position offers 30-40 hours per week, with a maximum of 1,000 hours per year.&nbsp; A valid Illinois State Driver&rsquo;s License is required. Maintain current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification and DCFS Mandated Reporter Certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.</span></span></p>\r\n\r\n<p sans-serif;\">Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent of Parks and Planning, Assistant Superintendents of Parks, and Fleet Manager, Mechanics shall complete their assigned duties to the best of their abilities and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees.&nbsp; This position requires extensive knowledge and ability
