Description The Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) Department at Lorain County Community College is seeking dependable and motivated student employees to serve as Welcome Desk Attendants. This position serves as the first friendly point of contact for students, staff, and community members accessing HPER facilities. It is responsible for providing high-quality customer service while positively implementing HPER policies and procedures in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include greeting and logging eligible participants in and out of the facility, answering general questions, signing patrons up for memberships, assisting with the set-up and breakdown of rentals, athletic events, and classes, cleaning equipment, performing laundry duties, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the HPER facilities. Student workers collaborate with HPER staff to ensure smooth daily operations and provide a welcoming, professional experience for all participants. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age and an enrolled student at Lorain County Community College carrying 6.0 or more credit hours while maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0. Candidates must be able to lift at least 30 pounds to assist with setting up equipment for classes and facility rentals. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, computer literate, and possesses proper phone etiquette. Applicants must present themselves neatly and professionally, demonstrate courtesy in all interactions, and show a willingness and ability to receive instruction from multiple staff members. A basic CPR certification is required and must be obtained upon employment if not already certified. About LCCC: Established in 1963, Lorain County Community College is the first community college in Ohio with a permanent campus. For six decades, LCCC has served the diverse needs of greater Lorain County region by providing affordable access to higher education and now serves approximately 13,000 students each year in certificate, associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. Since 1963, one in four Lorain County residents have taken classes at LCCC and more than 43,000 have earned a degree. LCCC was recently ranked in the top 10% of most affordable colleges in the nation and more than 90% of LCCC graduates live and work in Northeast Ohio. 45% of Lorain County’s high school graduates earn college credits through LCCC’s high school dual enrollment programs. LCCC also partners with more than 700 employers and offers 170 industry-recognized credentials to better prepare the workforce for the future.
