    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>CVP is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to join our team in providing our Nation's Veterans with diagnostic imaging services at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System (Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center), located at 5901 E. 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90822. This is a full-time, on-site position.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Independently operate ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of complex diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established national standards and VALBHS policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Receive patients, explain the method of procedure(s), position patients appropriately, select and set technical factors, and set up and adjust accessory equipment for imaging.</li>\n <li>Set up Ultrasound exam rooms, ensuring that all required supplies and equipment are present and available prior to examinations.</li>\n <li>Document necessary images and perform related clerical duties including sending images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), archiving images, post-processing images, and case editing of computer requests and reports.</li>\n <li>Maintain records and enter patient information using the Radiology VistA Package and the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).</li>\n <li>Contribute to patient assessments and determine priorities using independent judgment, organizational skills, and an interdisciplinary approach to the provision of care.</li>\n <li>Comply with all applicable VALBHS written policies, procedures, bylaws, and medical staff protocols; do not introduce new procedures or services without prior approval from the VALBHS Chief of Staff or Medical Director.</li>\n <li>Participate in Performance Improvement and Risk Management activities as required by VALBHS.</li>\n <li>Report any unusual incidents within 24 hours to the Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD) of the VALBHS Radiology Department; report all accidents, malfunctions, injuries, and deaths immediately and verbally to the COR.</li>\n <li>Maintain patient sensitivity and respect the basic rights and dignity of all patients.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance; US Citizenship is required.</li>\n <li>Minimum of two (2) years of current work experience in Medical Sonography.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge and technical proficiency in performing a broad range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations.</li>\n <li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with medical terminology, VA health information systems, and electronic medical records; training will be provided on VA-specific systems upon appointment.</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills and English language fluency.</li>\n <li>American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in Abdomen (AB) is encouraged but not required.</li>\n <li>Experience with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS); AGFA PACS experience is preferred but not required - training will be provided as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Location</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>VA Long Beach Healthcare System (VALBHS), 5901 E. 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90822</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Shifts</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Weekday & Weekend Coverage (including holidays)</li>\n <li>Day: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm</li>\n <li>Evening: 3:30 pm to 12:00 am</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Pay Rate</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Hourly Pay: $50.00/hr</li>\n <li>Health & Wellness (H&W): $5.09/hr (H&W will be prorated based on enrollment in the benefits offered, including automatic enrollment in employer-paid plans.)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About CVP</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>CVP is an award-winning healthcare and next-gen technology and consulting services firm solving critical problems for healthcare, national security, and public sector clients.
