Description

Overview The Director of Housing Facilities provides leadership, planning, and oversight for all facilities operations within University Housing. The position ensures safe, well-maintained, and student-ready residential environments that supports the academic mission of the university. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for housing facilities operations across all residential properties Oversee USU Housing Facilities teams which include the areas of maintenance, grounds, custodial, finishes, construction, cabinets, dispatch, warehousing, utilities, planning and design, contractor engagement, transportation, energy conservation, safety, and sustainability. (including hiring, and performance management) Oversees the process for tracking and charging for room damages Work with and mentor Housing employees Follow and ensure USU policies and procedures are being followed Develop and manage operating and capital budgets Conducts regular walk-throughs of all residential facilities to catch potential safety issues and ensure buildings are well-maintained for students Lead capital renewal planning and deferred maintenance strategies Coordinate major renovations and new construction in collaboration with Facilities and Executive Director Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university safety regulations (OSHA, fire/life safety, ADA) Oversight of preventative maintenance programs and work order systems Monitor key performance indicators (response time, completion rates, customer satisfaction) Mediate sensitive student and parent concerns regarding facilities issues, such as environmental or maintenance health concerns, to negotiate resolutions that ensure safety, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction Collaborate with Residence Life to minimize disruption to students Manage vendor contracts and service agreements Assist Executive Director Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Facilities Management, Business Administration, Construction Management) plus five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required Experience managing large-scale facilities and multi-disciplinary teams Background in budget management and capital planning Ability to manage multiple managers and drive a culture of professionalism Ability and willingness to modernize technology and systems to support organizational expansion Great communication skills: Both written and verbal Required Documents Along with the online application, please attach: Resume to be uploaded at the beginning of your application in the Candidate Profile under “Resume/CV” Cover letter to be typed/pasted at the end of your application (iForm) **Document size may not exceed 10 MB.** Advertised Salary Minimum of $85,000 commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits ADA Indoor/Outdoor Duties:The environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of the work each department performs.
