This role offers the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise while working alongside like‑minded technicians, engineers, and professionals within a leading global professional consulting firm.</div><div class=\"paragraph-in-scc-markdown-text ___1ngh792 ftgm304 f1iaxwol\">As a Geotechnical Construction Materials Field Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of construction projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional building sites, as well as major infrastructure projects that shape our communities.</div><hr><h2><strong>Your Impact</strong></h2><ul><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Deliver technical services in both field and office environments to support geotechnical and construction materials projects.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Perform field Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) testing on soils, concrete, aggregate, and asphalt in accordance with project and industry standards.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Conduct soil and asphalt compaction testing to confirm compliance with specifications.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Carry out subgrade, footing, and construction site inspections and observations.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Lead and support subsurface investigations, including layout, supervising drill rigs and excavators, logging boreholes and test pits, sampling soil and groundwater, and preparing detailed site sketches.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Maintain, calibrate, and operate testing equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and safety.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Collaborate with engineers and project managers to troubleshoot and resolve field challenges while championing health, safety, and quality practices.</li></ul><hr><h2><strong>The Skills That Set You Apart</strong></h2><ul><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, preferably with a focus on geotechnical engineering.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\"><strong>4–6 years of experience</strong> working as a geotechnical construction materials technician.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Registration or eligibility for registration with <strong>OACETT</strong> or <strong>PEO</strong> is considered an asset.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, drilling procedures (asset), and testing standards (CSA, ASTM, CCIL).</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Proven ability to work independently in construction and laboratory environments while coordinating effectively with supervisors and project teams.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and contractors.</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).</li><li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle and appropriate insurance coverage; willingness to travel and accommodate overtime, night shifts, and weekends as required.</li></ul><hr><h2><strong>Why Choose WSP?</strong></h2><div class=\"paragraph-in-scc-markdown-text ___1ngh792 ftgm304 f1iaxwol\">Why Choose WSP?
