    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">The <strong>Medical Assistant (MA)</strong> is an important liaison between the patient/family, provider, and other care team members. The MA is responsible for coordinating patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection and review for patient intake, ensuring the appropriate information is available to the provider, and entering pertinent history in the medical record. The MA performs and assists with clinical procedures in accordance with divisional/department responsibilities as directed by the provider and per protocol.</span></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Primary Responsibilities:</span></span></p><ol style=\"padding-left: 62.4px;\"><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Greets patients and families at the clinical setting according to Nemours Standards of Behavior.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Verifies patient identity using two patient identifiers (name and date of birth).</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Prepares exam rooms, clinic equipment and computer technology by maintaining inventory and supplies for the outpatient visit.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Rooms patient ensuring appropriate documents are with the patient, including required diagnostic reports.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Receive, unpack, store, inventory, transport non-controlled medications and clinic supplies</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Performs clinical duties to support the outpatient visit to include, but not limited to the following:</span></span><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 47.87px;\"><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Obtain and document height, weight, head circumference and vital signs.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Documents reason for visit, chief complaint and initiates orders defined using smart sets as appropriate for scope of service and Nemours’ protocol.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Assist with patient examination/treatment.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Perform and document point of care testing, and controls.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Administers and documents vaccines and approved medications as defined by policy as ordered and provides vaccine records to families</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Perform and collect routine laboratory specimens</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Operate required medical equipment.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Assist in the flow of patient care</span></span></li></ul></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Act as a liaison between support services, other clinical divisions, and patient regarding care and status of wait times.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Make confirmation calls that are not completed by automated systems to ensure all visits are in “confirmed” status prior to visit or per Department protocol.&nbsp;</span></span></li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p style=\"margin-left: -5.45pt;\">&nbsp;Experience as a Medical Assistant strongly preferred</p><p style=\"margin-left: -5.45pt;\">&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"margin-left: -5.45pt;\">&nbsp;Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred</p></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Medical Assistant Certification preferred: acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Athletics Light&quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">BLS certification with the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of start date</span></span></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p>",
