Description

Job Summary: The Painter / Panel Beater is responsible for carrying out vehicle body repairs, dent removal, panel restoration, surface preparation, and professional painting works for company vehicles including cars, trucks, trailers, and fuel tankers. The role ensures all bodywork and paint activities are completed to high quality standards while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements. The position supports fleet reliability, appearance, and operational readiness through efficient repair and finishing processes. Responsibilities: Perform dent removal, panel straightening, alignment, and body repairs for cars, trucks, trailers, and tankers. Repair or replace damaged body panels, doors, bumpers, cabins, and structural components. Use hand tools, hydraulic tools, and welding support equipment to complete repair work. Inspect damaged vehicles and determine appropriate repair methods. Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, filling, masking, priming, and cleaning before painting. Carry out spray painting, touch-up work, and full-body vehicle painting. Match paint colors accurately and ensure smooth, uniform finishing. Apply protective coatings and anti-corrosion treatments where required. Inspect completed repairs and rectify paint defects, uneven finishes, or panel misalignment. Ensure all work meets company quality standards and manufacturer specifications where applicable. Follow company HSE policies, workshop safety procedures, and environmental requirements. Use appropriate PPE including respirators, gloves, goggles, and protective clothing. Handle, store, and dispose of paints, thinners, and chemicals safely. Maintain fire safety, ventilation, and housekeeping standards within the paint shop area. Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, and equipment defects promptly. Complete job cards, repair records, and maintenance documentation accurately. Coordinate with mechanics, welders, and supervisors to support repair activities. Maintain spray guns, painting tools, and workshop equipment in good working condition. Support timely completion of repairs to minimize vehicle downtime. Requirements Certificate in Auto Painting and Panel Beating or related technical field. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in auto painting and panel beating. Experience working on cars, trucks, trailers, and fuel tankers is an added advantage. Proven experience in vehicle body repair, surface preparation, and spray painting. Strong knowledge of dent removal, panel straightening, and body restoration techniques. Ability to prepare surfaces through sanding, filling, masking, and priming. Proficiency in spray painting, touch-up work, and full-body vehicle painting. Ability to perform accurate color matching and deliver high-quality paint finishes. Knowledge of protective coatings and anti-corrosion treatment application. Ability to use hand tools, hydraulic tools, and painting equipment safely and effectively. Good understanding of HSE requirements and workshop safety procedures. Knowledge of safe handling, storage, and disposal of paints, thinners, and chemicals. Ability to consistently use PPE and maintain safe work practices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to maintain accurate job cards and work records. Self-motivated, disciplined, and reliable.
