Together,&nbsp;we’re making an impact around the world.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>If you’re looking for a career that moves, join our team of professionals who are passionate about the future of transportation.</p>\n<p><strong>Your Opportunity</strong></p>\n<p>We have an opportunity for motivated individuals for Field Assistant – Scaler/Checker positions with our Alberta Transportation group in Red Deer and Ponoka, Alberta These are temporary project positions that will run for the duration of the construction project requirements.</p>\n<p><strong>Your Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p>Scale Person – Ponoka, Alberta</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Records truck asphalt/gravel weights on scale sheet and the truck driver’s haul card.</li>\n <li>Adds up and checks the daily total weight, total weight per truck, and per round.</li>\n <li>Communicates any changes or concerns to the project inspector and road checker.</li>\n <li>Submits reviewed/corrected scale sheet to the inspector daily.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Road Checker – Red Deer, Alberta</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Records load weights for each truck, as they arrive at the paver.</li>\n <li>Moves their vehicle down the road to stay just ahead of the paving crew, parking in approaches or other safe locations.</li>\n <li>Calculates accumulated weights per 100 m or km as requested by the Contractor or inspector.</li>\n <li>Calculates and checks accumulated weight per round and per day.</li>\n <li>Provides daily checker sheet and haul cards to the inspector daily.</li>\n</ul>",
