This role is responsible for the qualification, calibration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of analytical instruments in a GMP‑regulated laboratory and manufacturing environment. The Metrologist ensures instrumentation compliance with regulatory standards, minimizes equipment downtime, and upholds data integrity across QC operations.&nbsp;</p><hr><h3><strong>Essential Functions &amp; Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Supervise day‑to‑day QC instrumentation activities, including scheduling calibrations, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting</li><li>Ensure all QC and manufacturing instruments are qualified, calibrated, and maintained per SOPs and GMP requirements</li><li>Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on equipment including pH meters, moisture analyzers, balances/scales, particle size analyzers, FTIR, and magnet pull testing</li><li>Lead and support instrument qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), requalification, and decommissioning activities</li><li>Serve as a liaison with vendors for repairs, service, and qualification support</li><li>Maintain accurate instrument documentation including calibration records, usage logs, and deviation reports</li><li>Lead or support investigations related to equipment failures, data integrity concerns, or OOS results related to instrument performance</li><li>Support change controls, deviations, CAPAs, and other quality system documentation related to instrumentation</li><li>Train and mentor QC analysts on proper instrument usage, troubleshooting, and care</li><li>Participate in audits and regulatory inspections, providing instrument‑related documentation and support</li><li>Collaborate with IT and validation teams on computerized system validation and data integrity compliance</li><li>Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities related to instrumentation or workflows&nbsp;</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Education, Experience &amp; Skills</strong></h3><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific field</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, including 3+ years in instrumentation‑focused roles</li><li>Strong knowledge of analytical laboratory instrumentation (e.g., Particle Size Analyzers, FTIR, Karl Fischer, Moisture Analyzers, pH meters)</li><li>Familiarity with GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, USP &lt;1058&gt;, and data integrity principles</li><li>Hands‑on experience with instrument qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) and validation</li><li>Proficiency with quality systems including deviations, CAPAs, and change controls</li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Our Offer</strong></h3><ul><li>Competitive compensation</li><li><strong>Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, Short‑ and Long‑Term Disability, and Life Insurance</strong> (effective the first of the month following 60 days)</li><li><strong>401(k) plan with safe‑harbor contribution</strong></li><li><strong>Paid Time Off (PTO)</strong> &ndash; eligible on first day of employment</li><li><strong>9 company‑paid holidays (72 hours annually)</strong></li><li>Uniforms and annual foot protection allowance (for applicable roles)</li><li>24‑hour access to a free on‑site fitness center</li><li>Individual development, on‑the‑job training, and professional growth opportunities designed to help you succeed and feel valued</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Equal Opportunity Employer</strong></h3><p>Jost Chemical Company is an equal opportunity employer and affirmatively seeks diversity in its workforce.
