About the Position:
Support and assist with the coordination of facilities resources for designated SMU-sponsored and hosted events. Collaborate and communicate with campus partners, department partners, custodial staff, and various event support entities to ensure successful execution of event support. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Event Support.
This position is considered essential personnel in times of disaster or emergency events and is required to report to campus at the direction of the management team. This role will also support all EOC operations.
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
Essential Functions:
Assist with collecting and communicating event schedules, and the coordination of the facilities resource components requested for associated events. Collaborates with all divisions of Facilities Planning and Management to ensure all details are considered and accurate communication and execution surrounding requested campus events occur. Communicate with varied campus partners to validate accuracy of requests and follow up to ensure successful execution and client satisfaction. Assist with solving issues that arise prior, during, and following events to ensure the event is supported as requested. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of event procedures and processes, such as event Playbooks and MOPs. Assist with data collection on the lessons learned from designated SMU sponsored and hosted events. Assist with coordinating meetings for facilities resource components, and assist with collecting and communicating facilities staff schedules for events. Other duties as assigned.

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyze problems as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Candidate must possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude. A high level of initiative and judgment for a variety of critical and complex decisions is required. Basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Project, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and CMMS/IWMS is required .
Candidate must be able to work e venings and/or weekends.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
Reach above shoulders
Sit for long periods of time
Handle objects (dexterity)

Walk for long distances
