To lead the way in health care in South Los Angeles, as the premier provider and employer of choice offering comprehensive, high quality, affordable, efficient and culturally responsive services.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>General Summary:</strong> The Physician Assistant is responsible for providing direct preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic healthcare services following relevant state law, as well as the established clinic policies, procedures, and protocols. The ideal candidate will have to perform some of the following essential duties</p><ul><li>Carries out a review of patients’ medical history and examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition checks their health status and prescribes needed medicines to patients</li><li>Obtains, compiles and records patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination and records patients’ progress</li><li>Suggests therapy or medication with physician approval</li><li>Orders diagnostic tests, including blood tests and x-rays</li><li>Establishes diagnoses for a patient’s illness or injuries</li><li>Assists in treatment, including immunizing patients and mending broken bones&nbsp;</li><li>Suggests tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients</li><li>Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance</li><li>Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management</li><li>Adhere to safety factors when administering medications and therapeutic agents.&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of safety, infection control &amp; emergency policies and procedures</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications Licensure and Certifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree, together with a certificate from completing an American Medical Association approved physician assistant program&nbsp;</li><li>Valid Physician’s Assistant License.</li><li>Valid license with the State of California.</li><li>Current BLS&nbsp;</li><li>Current DEA</li><li>Current NPI&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>A minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a community clinic setting is prefer.</li><li>Previous experience in a Community Health Centers is &nbsp;preferred</li><li>Some clinical experience in an area of specialty is preferred.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Skills and Abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a community clinic environment</li><li>Possession of exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective collaboration with physicians, staff, community health workers, patients and their families</li><li>Ability to work with little or no supervision, and to take initiative in handling the responsibilities of the post</li><li>Ability to understand complex medical information and clearly communicate it to patients and their families, medical staff, and external customers, in written and spoken format</li><li>Possession of conflict resolution and problem solving skills to effectively manage conflict in work environment</li><li>Ability to keep all sensitive and confidential information to self and out of reach to unauthorized persons</li><li>Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.</li></ul><p><strong>Top benefits or perks:</strong> As a team member at South Central Family Health Center, you’ll enjoy competitive wages and generous benefits:</p><ul><li>Benefits: Health care, dental, life insurance</li><li>403 (b) Retirement plan</li><li>Education Reimbursement</li><li>Career development: Entry-level employees have opportunities to work in management, HR or other areas of the company.&nbsp;</li></ul>",
