The incumbent provides program consultation and co-ordination, evaluation of clinical interventions, formal supervisory (clinical/ professional and/or administrative) relationship with other employees, preceptor students in formal clinical practicum, and provides professional and public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources. As a senior practitioner, acts as a resource for other professionals for mental health and addiction in the community.</p>\n<p><strong>Human Resources Exemption: </strong>No</p>\n<p><strong>Education</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master of Social Work (MSW)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Computer skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3 yrs (postgraduate) exp working in community mental health &amp; addiction services</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies</li>\n <li>Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs &amp; support agencies</li>\n <li>Exp. in mental health &amp; addictions community outreach &amp; crisis interventions</li>\n <li>Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems</li>\n <li>Highly developed written and oral communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.</li>\n <li>Ability to provide public presentation and professional training.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution skills</li>\n <li>Excellent consultation &amp; public relation skills</li>\n <li>Public relation skills with the ability to maintain effective work relationships</li>\n <li>Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation</li>\n <li>Demonstrated leadership skills, workload management and administration skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to manage workload/staff development related to resource coordination</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting</li>\n <li>Able to work independently in a self motivated manner &amp;&nbsp;respond under pressure</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Recovery Philosophy</li>\n <li>Cultural competency and can work effectively in multicultural environment</li>\n <li>Ability to identify, implement &amp; evaluate areas of client difficulty</li>\n <li>Formulate evidence based intervention</li>\n <li>Knowledge of &nbsp;intervention strategies for individual with Mental health problems</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Other Information</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have current practicing registration with SASW.</li>\n <li>Requires a valid driver’s license.
