    "description": "<p>The Solar O&amp;M Technician (Level 2) is responsible for performing advanced inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on solar energy systems. The Solar O&amp;M Technician (Level 2) will work independently and provide guidance to junior technicians to ensure safe and efficient operation of solar power plants.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This role requires regular travel and dispatch assignments throughout the Champaign, IL region to support operational and project demands.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Safety:</span>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead by example in promoting a safe working environment.</li>\n<li>Performs approved hazardous electrical energy control procedures Selects correct PPE for task</li>\n<li>Participate &amp; critique Pre-Job-Brief, Job Safety Analysis, Uses Personal LOTO as a worker, or work leader if approved.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Inspections &amp; Preventative Maintenance:</span>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform comprehensive inspections of solar energy systems, including electrical and mechanical components.</li>\n<li>Conduct advanced preventative maintenance tasks, such as infrared thermography, insulation resistance testing, and IV curve tracing.</li>\n<li>Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Troubleshooting:</span>\n<ul>\n<li>Independently diagnose and troubleshoot system issues.</li>\n<li>Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes.</li>\n<li>Perform repairs and replacements of equipment as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Operate in 600Vac, 1500Vdc situations safely without direct supervision.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Documentation:</span>\n<ul>\n<li>Create and maintain detailed documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs with little oversight.</li>\n<li>Provide technical reports and recommendations to Team Lead.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Learning &amp; Knowledge:</span>\n<ul>\n<li>Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.</li>\n<li>Contribute to improvement of quality and content of training.</li>\n<li>Share knowledge and expertise with junior technicians.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Able to travel on short notice and be available during non-traditional working hours.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 50% travel will be required at times.</li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n<li>2 years of experience in the solar industry or related field.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated understanding of electrical systems, solar energy principles, and grid-tied systems.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems preferred.</li>\n<li>OSHA 30-hour and NFPA 70e certification preferred.</li>\n<li>FAA Part 107 Certification</li>\n<li>Familiar operating Drones for Aerial Thermographic purposes.</li>\n<li>Familiar with the use of diagnostic tools such as I/V Curve Tracers, Meggers, and Isolation testers.</li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.</li>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and leads by example when working with junior technicians.</li>\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li>\n<li>Valid driver's license and clean driving record.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be able to drive a vehicle confidently and with a high degree of safety.</li>\n<li>Be able to stand for long periods of time and walk distances up to three miles a day.</li>\n<li>Be able to navigate ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps while maintaining 3 points of contact.</li>\n<li>Have the visual acuity for depth perception, no field of vision issues, and to distinguish between colors.</li>\n<li>Be comfortable working in a variety of climate conditions which may include but are not limited to, extreme heat (temperatures above 100°F) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32°F) for periods of more than one hour.</li>\n<li>Be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>This role involves work on electrical systems associated with solar photovoltaic (PV) equipment. Illinois does not maintain a single statewide electrician license; however, candidates must comply with all applicable state and local licensing requirements.</em><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>Electrical work must be performed by or under the supervision of a properly licensed electrician in the jurisdiction where work is performed, and may require an Illinois-licensed Electrical Contractor or coordination with a licensed electrical contractor as required by law.</em><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>All work must be completed in accordance with applicable local codes, permitting requirements, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).</em></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time. </span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>The expected annual compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000, encompassing base pay and potential incentive target opportunity. This range is a good faith estimate based on the position's requirements.
