Position: Medical Technician Location: Abraxas South Mountain, LDP Now hiring a Medical Technician at Abraxas South Mountain LDP! In this role, you will help improve the lives of at-risk youth in our community. This po s ition promotes good h ea l th , treats minor medical condition s, provides first aid, administers medications and ensures the medical needs of the clients are addres se d under the supervision of the Nurse Manger or designated licensed medical staff in the absence of the Nurse Manager. Salary: $18.00 per hour Job Type: Full-Time Shift: WEEKEND SHIFT - Friday -Sunday 12-hour shifts & Tuesdays 830a-1230p Who We Are: Abraxas Youth & Family Services is a national nonprofit human services provider dedicated to Building Better Futures for at-risk youth, adults, and families. Since 1973, Abraxas team members have positively impacted the lives of those we serve and the communities in which they live. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Job Duties: Administer s pre sc ription and over-the-counter m ed icati o n s, fir s t aid, and triages to cli e nt s a s needed on th e s hift , und e r the s up e rvision and in collaboration with appropriate medical staff. Perform visual in s pecti o n of medication logs to assure that client medication s are administered at s cheduled time s Addresses s i c k call s and provide s tr e atment under the Ph ysicia n 's Standing Order s . Complete s the medical intake process including measuring v i ta l s i gns an d initial health Maintain s all medical do c umentation , medical history, and file on ea c h cli e nt and abide s by HIP AA compliance rules and D es i g n ates appropriate client referrals to the contract e d Obt a in s blood and urine samples, processes laboratory reque s t s and coordinates currier s ervice s through the contracted Order s and maintains stock of prescription medications, vaccines and medical Performs daily assess ment of program medical issues and consults or coordinate s with appropriate medical staff member as required to ensure medical department operation s are R es pond s to interventions and monitors resident physical status during the Support s the Abrax as philo s ophy and mission and promote s th e Seven Key Principle s of care . Demonstrates appropriate u se of Safe Crisi s Management techniques and s kill s . Hiring Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Certified Medical Assistant or Medical Technician (preferred) At least twenty-one (21) years of age Valid driver's license from state of residence. Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing. Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors. Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
