Our mandate is set by three frameworks:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>Honouring Our Strengths: A Renewed Framework to Address Substance Use Issues Among First Nations People in Canada</li>\n<li>Indigenous Wellness Framework</li>\n<li>First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our core stakeholders are First Nations communities and the network of First Nations adult and youth treatment centres. To support the mandate, Thunderbird has two office locations, one based in a First Nations community in southwestern Ontario, and the other in the city of London, Ontario. This position may be a hybrid work or remote work arrangement.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Your opportunity</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a Thunderbird Partnership Foundation Trainer, you will be responsible for the delivery of Thunderbird’s accredited training curriculum within a fast paced First Nations organization.</li>\n<li>You will work on a team with others like yourself who are dedicated to work which has real value and meaning in the lives of others.</li>\n<li>You will apply all your experience, skills, talents, and passion for the benefit of others while learning from the expertise of your wellness focused team.</li>\n<li>You will enjoy the satisfaction that comes from knowing that your work is much more than just a job.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation Trainer, you will</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>facilitate the articulation and delivery of curriculum and instructional training strategies that are consistent with the mission and vision of Thunderbird Partnership Foundation.</li>\n<li>be responsible for delivering curriculum complete with materials, tutorials, instructions, and learning resources such as online modules and guides ensuring that training methodology and delivery is compatible with culturally relevant training curriculum.</li>\n<li>implement a variety of adult centred teaching strategies and best practices that help learners remain engaged to support their professional needs.</li>\n<li>identify culturally relevant resources and materials that support instructional practices that facilitate engagement of various learning styles.</li>\n<li>ensure the evaluation of training course delivery and tracking for monitoring, reporting, and continuous quality improvement.</li>\n<li>assess instructional effectiveness through course evaluation to determine the impact of training on stakeholder skills.</li>\n<li>design, prepare and source relevant educational aids and materials.</li>\n<li>support the development and delivery strategy for dissemination of outputs and knowledge exchange. <br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p>You bring</p>\n<ul>\n<li>a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Indigenous Studies/ Public Health/ Social Work or related disciplines,</li>\n<li>two years of related experience,</li>\n<li>fluency in a First Nations language (a definite asset),</li>\n<li>knowledge of various methods of teaching and instruction,</li>\n<li>hands-on experience managing multiple training/education events and environments,</li>\n<li>the ability to manage a diverse workload and tight timeframes,</li>\n<li>knowledge of protocols and ethical practices related to working with First Nations,</li>\n<li>cultural competence and the ability to interact effectively within First Nation communities/societies,</li>\n<li>the ability to travel regularly,</li>\n<li>knowledge of First Nations traditions and customs including natural healing (a definite asset),</li>\n<li>strong interpersonal and relationship building skills including conflict resolution abilities,</li>\n<li>excellent communication skills (writing, presentation, public speaking),</li>\n<li>creative problem-solving skills,</li>\n<li>knowledge of learning management systems and web/digital delivery tools,</li>\n<li>a genuine enthusiasm for lifelong learning,</li>\n<li>MS Office proficiency,</li>\n<li>the ability to function autonomously and to be flexible/adaptable to change,</li>\n<li>the capacity to effectively maintain confidentiality, and</li>\n<li>the means to attend work locations not accessible by public transportation.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><br>If this sounds like the right fit for you, please email your <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">resume and cover letter</span> for confidential consideration.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Thunderbird Partnership Foundation (NNAPF) <br>22361 Austin Line</p>\n<p>Bothwell, ON N0P 1C0</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Email:</span> <a href=\"mailto:[email protected]\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">[email protected]</a></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br>Closing date:</span> Open until filled.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We value the importance of diversity and dignity in the workplace and are committed to developing inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection processes and work environments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If you require accommodation during the recruitment and selection process, please let us know.
