We provide news, briefs, features, opinions, and analysis to 100 print newspapers and digital publications on a daily basis.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Role Overview:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">JNS is seeking freelance </span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Brief Writers and Reporters</span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> for our news team. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Our Brief Writers will be responsible for delivering regular news reports, analyses, news briefs, and original stories relevant to Israel and the Jewish world, while also conducting interviews and collaborating with the editorial team to produce high-quality content.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The ideal candidate must understand the related issues, quickly identify and cover timely stories related to Middle Eastern and Jewish topics.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">It's crucial that our writers resonate with our mission, reflecting an understanding and passion for Israel and the Jewish world in their work. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Be Doing:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Write full length news reports and reported analysis each week on stories of major import to Israel and the Jewish world, utilizing at least 2 original source quotes.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Write news briefs as topics arise or as they are assigned on a daily basis.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Travel to and cover conferences and events in the US as and when required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Uncover and pitch original news stories and angles.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Cultivate strong relationships with sources within the Jewish communal organizational structure, for advance news tips, background and context on key issues, as well as for use as on-the-record sourcing as subject-matter experts.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Work performed for JNS is expected to conform to the highest journalistic standards. Absolute accuracy and originality are required of all work.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Conduct interviews with key stakeholders, experts, and individuals relevant to the stories being covered. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Collaborate with editors, designers, photographers, and other team members to produce high-quality content that meets editorial standards and deadlines.
