This is a remote, full-time position open to candidates based in Montreal or Quebec City, Canada.</p><p>The Forward Deployed Engineer serves as the primary technical contact and trusted advisor for strategic manufacturing accounts. This role sits at the intersection of production software engineering, industrial automation, and applied AI, requiring both deep technical capability and strong client-facing communication skills in French and English.</p><p>Key Responsibilities:<br>\n- Own the full lifecycle of AI deployment for manufacturing clients, from initial scoping and integration through to production hardening and formal handover.<br>\n- Embed with customer operations and IT teams as the main technical advisor and point of contact.<br>\n- Integrate AI vision systems with OT, IT, and cloud stacks, including OPC-UA, Modbus, PLCs, NVIDIA Jetson edge inference, ERP systems, and customer cloud platforms.<br>\n- Build and iterate data pipelines and customer-side data flywheels, covering edge-to-cloud capture, model deployment, monitoring, and feedback loops.<br>\n- Troubleshoot software, networking, and integration issues in live production environments.<br>\n- Document system architectures and configurations, producing formal handover artifacts for long-term support.<br>\n- Train customer operators and engineers in both French and English to ensure successful adoption and operation of deployed systems.<br>\n- Participate in pre-sales scoping calls and contribute field learnings to the product and engineering roadmap, helping shape reusable deployment patterns and internal tooling.<br>\n- Support on-site data collection and annotation efforts as needed.</p>",

          "text": "<p>Required Qualifications:<br>\n- 6 or more years of experience combining production software engineering with industrial automation and/or applied AI.<br>\n- Proven track record of shipping and supporting production software systems deployed into customer infrastructure.<br>\n- Production Python development experience with hands-on use of Linux, Docker, and Git in production environments.<br>\n- Cloud deployment and operations experience with at least one major platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.<br>\n- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: OPC-UA/Modbus/PLC integration, NVIDIA Jetson or equivalent edge platforms, or GenICam and industrial vision systems.<br>\n- Networking fundamentals for industrial deployments, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and firewalls.<br>\n- Experience in a customer-facing engineering role as the primary technical contact for external stakeholders.<br>\n- Professional working proficiency in both French and English.<br>\n- Current member in good standing of the Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec (ing.) or eligible to become one.</p><p>Preferred Qualifications:<br>\n- Professional experience working in industrial automation or manufacturing environments involving OT/IT integration.</p><p>Note: English proficiency is required as the role involves frequent interaction with clients, suppliers, and colleagues outside Quebec whose working language is English.
