About Svix Svix is a fast-growing startup building the future of server-to-server communication, starting with webhooks. We build high-quality, scalable, and fast infrastructure trusted by companies like Etsy, TaskRabbit, Brex, and the Fortune 500. We have a top 1% product & team, our customers love us, and we are working towards building a generation defining developer infrastructure company. We also wrote the spec for webhooks ( Standard Webhooks ) which has since been adopted by Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, and many others. To support our efforts, we have raised $11M from top investors including a16z and Y Combinator, along with founders and CTOs from companies like GitHub, Segment, Lookout, and Fly.io. About the role We are looking for a high-agency and ambitious generalist that can think strategically, manage projects and execute. You will work closely with the founder & CEO on strategy, planning, and whatever task is most important for the business at any given moment. You'll get to affect and learn all aspects of the business, see how decision are made, build a broad skill set, and develop your network. You will also get to experiment with AI for real company use-cases, and work at the cutting edge. This is a unique opportunity for aspiring founders, and especially for aspiring founders interested in developer tools and technical products. Mission Make the founder more effective by owning the highest-leverage work across the business. Be a thought partner, help with strategy, and make sure the important things actually happen. Example responsibilities: Strategy, research, and planning : market analysis, opportunity assessment, sounding board, GTM projects, etc. Project management : goal setting, metrics, reporting, accountability, and following through on founder priorities. Team : hiring, development, compensation, and feedback cycles. Internal ops & systems : compliance & controls, processes, automation, and tooling. Gap filling : owning undefined problems end-to-end, then automating them or handing them off. Outcomes Strategy & planning become a trusted thought partner, where the founder can hand off ambiguous strategic questions and get back decision-ready analysis Hiring lead hiring two additional engineers in SF in the first few months. Project management set up processes so that every team has robust goal setting, metrics, reporting and accountability team wide. Systems & gap filling take over responsibilities such as company controls, processes, and automation. For example, own compliance calendar, CRM management, and BI systems so that founder time is ~0. AI & Automation connect systems, data, and AI for more connected and better decision making. The goal is to have all relevant company data accessible from a single place and queryable to systems. With the knowledge base systems being first, with the goal of having a live and reliable company knowledge base. The first step should be done in the first few months. Competencies (ABC) Project management: know how to manage projects, create plans, and execute against them while keeping everything organized . AI forward: have used Claude Code or Codex successfully for real use-cases. Understand (high-level) some of the technical aspects including context window, tool-calling, subagents, and more. Excited and curious about leveraging these tools to increase our leverage. Automations: used tools to create automations around common workflows. Strategic thinking: demonstrate the ability to think in both the micro and macro levels, and how to effectively plan and execute to reach long-horizon goals. Competent with computers: you don’t need to be an engineer, but you can’t be a luddite. You need to be a proficient user of computers. Research, learning and consumption of information: you’re able to pickup up new topics quickly and be able to execute in new domains in short amounts of time. Work in ambiguity: startups operate in high ambiguity environments. You need to be able to successfully plan and execute with missing information and constantly adapt as new information presents itself. Scientific: you need to know how to construct good experiments, read data, and draw conclusions. Qualities (ABC) Smart: raw intelligence and quick thinker. Resourceful: scrappy as a default, but also spends when needed. Wants to win: driven, competitive, and focused on winning. High energy: knows there’s a lot to be done, and has the energy to push it forward. High agency: figures out what needs to be done and does it. Finds solutions to problems, and realizes we control our own destiny. Not lazy: willing to do the work, automating when needed, but not outsourcing thinking. LLMs are a powerful tool, but they shouldn’t replace thinking or be used for things they are not suitable for. Thorough: follows tasks through to completion and pays close attention to detail, ensuring nothing is overlooked and the quality is high. Values aligned : aligned with our values .
