We design, develop and deploy the hardware, software and network infrastructure. We ensure consistent availability and performance for our customers.</p><p><b>Partner with the best</b></p><p>Deploy server clusters and remotely diagnose hardware problems. Facilitate server repairs, manage Akamai's hardware assets and interact with data center and ISPs staff. Manage a team of field technicians and work closely with external partners and internal teams!</p><p>As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for:</p><ul><li class=\"lst\">Managing projects for server deployments and network installations through collaboration with cross-functional technical team;</li><li class=\"lst\">Managing remote hardware assets and diagnosing switch and router problems to ensure stability of Akamai platform;</li><li class=\"lst\">Attending service incident meetings to provide guidance on restoring services;</li><li class=\"lst\">Recruiting, training and mentoring of new engineers and technicians to share knowledge and up-skill your team.</li></ul><p><b>Do what you love</b></p><p>To be successful in this role you will:</p><ul><li class=\"lst\">Be experienced in network technologies and internet protocols</li><li class=\"lst\">Have proficiency in layer 2 and a good understanding of layer 3</li><li class=\"lst\">Be comfortable with working in a Linux/Unix environment</li><li class=\"lst\">Have experience in a data center environment</li><li class=\"lst\">Show expertise and hands-on technical experience configuring switches and managing routers</li></ul><p><b>Work in a way that works for you</b></p><p>FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
