This team plays a crucial role in improving the overall patient and retail experience for those in our care by offering excellent customer service. In this position, you will also play a key role in helping to improve patient outcomes by listening carefully to each patient and customer’s dietary needs, and handling meal requests in a timely way. Some highlights about this position include:</p><ul><li>Great entry level role for individuals interested in a career in health care or food service</li><li>On the job training is available</li><li>Great for individuals who enjoy customer service</li><li>Excellent opportunities for those seeking entry level exposure to a patient facing role.</li><li>Shift differentials available for evening/weekend shifts.</li><li>Part-time and per-diem shifts available (great for students!)</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>How You Will Fulfill Your Potential</strong></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Set up and serve food/supplies to the cafeteria customers while utilizing accurate portion control, adhering to recipes, and maintaining proper food handling&nbsp;</li><li>Interact directly with patients at the bedside to obtain menu selections</li><li>Assemble patient food trays according to computerized assembly tickets</li><li>Maintain appropriate par level of food and supplies for customers as well as daily unit/refrigerator floor stock</li><li>Perform daily sanitation procedures utilizing appropriate tools and products including ware washing and processing</li><li>Assist with setup, decorating, meal delivery and pickup for special functions (events, holidays, or theme functions) within the hospital</li><li>Respond to patient/customer satisfaction concerns and make appropriate decisions regarding suitable resolutions within the scope of the job</li><li>Occasionally clean and pick up all eating areas (tables, chairs, counters surrounding the cafeteria and kitchen)</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications/Experience</strong></p><p><strong>Education/Accredited Programs</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma/GED equivalent preferred</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Experience/Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Customer service experience preferred</li><li>Experience in a healthcare-based dietary role highly preferred</li><li>Ability to handle patient/customer complaints and demands</li><li>Ability to work with many personalities, including employees, customers, and patients in a highly time structured environment</li><li>Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Ability to learn general nutrition principles and special diet modifications within 7-10 days</li><li>Ability to maintain an organized work environment using proper rotation with food products</li><li>Ability to act as a role model</li><li>Able to work with institutional food service equipment</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Salary Range</strong><br>The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $17.25 to $22.50 per hour.
