Position Summary The position's main function is to assist with the daily operations of the Center for New Media, including supporting students and faculty in media production activities, managing equipment loans, and maintaining production spaces such as the Live Stream Room, Audio Rooms, and Edit Suites. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Under the direction of the Director of the Center for New Media, the Media Production Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and technical support for the New Media programs and Center for New Media through effective performance in these essential duties: Key responsibilities include: Provide technical support to students and faculty in media production labs and studios, including troubleshooting minor technical issues and assisting with equipment loans. Assist with the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of production spaces and equipment for classes, events, live streaming, and recording sessions. Collaborate with Center staff, including the Director and Media Operations Specialist, on media production activities and events, and assist the Director and Media Operations Specialist when needed. Assist in managing the Center for New Media’s social media accounts by creating content, posting updates, and engaging with the online community. Work with students as a tutor in media production techniques and software, and assist faculty as a classroom assistant when needed. Coordinate with other departments to schedule room use and integrate media production activities into broader campus initiatives This posting outlines qualifications, experience, and skills but is not limited to the full specifications in the official job description. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in Media Production or related field with relevant media production experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of media production equipment, software, and studio operations, including live streaming technology, audio/video recording systems, editing platforms, and digital media workflows. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced educational and production environment, including supporting classroom instruction, assisting with media production events, maintaining production spaces, and creating engaging social media content. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting or participating in media production activities such as video production, photography, audio production, graphic design, social media content creation, live streaming, or related creative work. Experience working in collaborative production or creative team environments. Demonstrated ability to work independently and responsibly in student-facing environments. Experience assisting students, peers, or faculty with media-related projects, equipment, or creative technologies. Familiarity with current short-form digital media and content creation workflows. CT State</a> <h2>Position Details</h2><strong>Posted:</strong> May 11, 2026<br><strong>Level:</strong> Educational Assistant<br><strong>Employment Type:</strong><b> </b>Temporary position, non-tenure track position<br><strong>Hours:</strong> Part-time up to 17 hours per week <br><strong>Anticipated Start Date:</strong> June 2026<br><strong>Work Location:</strong> CT State Middlesex 1(00 Training Hill Rd., Middletown, CT 06457)<br><strong>Work Modality:</strong> On-site; Position is not remote<br><strong>Closing Date:</strong> Open until filled, with priority consideration given to applicants who submit materials <strong>by Wednesday, May 20, 2026.</strong><h2>Position Summary</h2><p>The position's main function is to assist with the daily operations of the Center for New Media, including supporting students and faculty in media production activities, managing equipment loans, and maintaining production spaces such as the Live Stream Room, Audio Rooms, and Edit Suites.</p><h2>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h2><p>Under the direction of the<strong> </strong>Director of the Center for New Media, the Media Production Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and technical support for the New Media programs and Center for New Media through effective performance in these essential duties:<br><br>Key responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Provide technical support to students and faculty in media production labs and studios, including troubleshooting minor technical issues and assisting with equipment loans.</li><li>Assist with the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of production spaces and equipment for classes, events, live streaming, and recording sessions.</li><li>Collaborate with Center staff, including the Director and Media Operations Specialist, on media production activities and events, and assist the Director and Media Operations Specialist when needed.</li><li>Assist in managing the Center for New Media’s social media accounts by creating content, posting updates, and engaging with the online community.</li><li>Work with students as a tutor in media production techniques and software, and assist faculty as a classroom assistant when needed.</li><li>Coordinate with other departments to schedule room use and integrate media production activities into broader campus initiatives</li></ul><p><em>This posting outlines qualifications, experience, and skills but is not limited to the full specifications in the official job description.</em></p><h2>Minimum Qualifications</h2><p>Associate degree in Media Production or related field with relevant media production experience</p><p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p><ul><li>Knowledge of media production equipment, software, and studio operations, including live streaming technology, audio/video recording systems, editing platforms, and digital media workflows.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced educational and production environment, including supporting classroom instruction, assisting with media production events, maintaining production spaces, and creating engaging social media content.</li><li>Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities</li><li>Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)</li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Experience supporting or participating in media production activities such as video production, photography, audio production, graphic design, social media content creation, live streaming, or related creative work.</li><li>Experience working in collaborative production or creative team environments.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and responsibly in student-facing environments.</li><li>Experience assisting students, peers, or faculty with media-related projects, equipment, or creative technologies.</li><li>Familiarity with current short-form digital media and content creation workflows.</li></ul><h2>Salary </h2><ul><li>$34.06 hourly</li></ul><p>For more information, visit: <a href=\"https://www.ct.edu/hr/future\">CSCU -
