    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Salary Range</strong> <strong>: </strong>$17.68 - $19.39<strong> Salary Grade:</strong> 7<strong> FLSA:</strong> Nonexempt</p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong><br>The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.<br><br>Evaluates work orders and other forms of task assignment to understand what work is required; determines equipment and supplies required; executes required work; and completes applicable portions of the work order to record work done.<br><br>Uses a variety of lawn cutting equipment and machinery, to include the large, commercial riding mowers; mows, edges, and trims (using weed eater) grass; aerates lawns; cleans lawn areas using blower, pitch fork, broom, or water pressure; and replaces damaged sod as required.<br><br>Prunes trees using pole saw or chain saw; trims shrubbery using gas or electric trimmers, manual trimmers, loppers, or clippers; and bundles and disposes of resulting refuse appropriately.<br><br>Collects trash from park areas, including buildings; changes trash receptacle liners (bags); examines all areas for cleanliness and safety; and disposes of collected refuse correctly.<br><br>Paints and maintains playground equipment and recreation buildings; removes graffiti, using sand blasting if needed; and inspects and reports any issues with equipment or buildings.<br><br>Operates light trucks, all-terrain vehicles, portable generators, wood chippers, lawn mowers, edgers, weed eaters, blowers, and other power or motorized equipment; provides routine maintenance of equipment; transports required equipment and supplies to work sites; and reports maintenance issues with equipment when detected.<br><br><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong><br>High school diploma or GED required; one year of experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.<br><br><strong>Specific License Certification:</strong><br>Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license; a valid Georgia Commercial driver's License, including appropriate endorsements, is preferred.</p>",
