We are committed to supporting our team with the resources, trust, and respect needed to do their best work and make a meaningful impact every day.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The Thurston County HQHVSN Veterinarian provides medical leadership and oversight for a high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter clinic. This role is responsible for delivering safe, efficient surgical care while ensuring compliance with all medical, regulatory, and operational standards.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The DVM partners closely with the Regional Clinic Manager to optimize clinic flow and expand access to care for low-income pet owners, animal rescues, and community cats.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities include but are not limited to,</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><br></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Surgical Care &amp; Medical Oversight:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries (minimum 35 per clinic day)</li>\n<li>Ensure patient safety, humane handling, and adherence to best practices across all surgical stages</li>\n<li>Oversee all medical care and clinical activities in compliance with WAC 246-935-040 and 246-935-060</li>\n<li>Monitor patient condition, respond to complications, and manage post-operative care</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><br></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Medical Operations:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administer and supervise treatments including medications, vaccines, and other interventions</li>\n<li>Manage controlled substances in compliance with state and federal regulations, including accurate logging and record-keeping</li>\n<li>Maintain complete and accurate medical records</li>\n<li>Update drug dosing charts and treatment protocols as needed</li>\n<li>Maintain active WA State veterinary license and DEA registration</li>\n<li>Adhere to AVMA, WSVMA, and applicable professional standards</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Staff Training &amp; Communication:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Train and mentor staff and volunteers on surgical support, animal care, and clinic protocols</li>\n<li>Foster a respectful, collaborative, and professional work environment</li>\n<li>Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding procedures, risks, and post-operative care</li>\n<li>Ensure thorough documentation of client interactions and medical notes</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Clinic Operation:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with the Regional Clinic Manager to optimize workflow and efficiency</li>\n<li>Partner with LVTs and clinic staff to ensure smooth daily operations</li>\n<li>Communicate patient priorities and status effectively to the team</li>\n<li>Escalate operational, medical, or personnel concerns as appropriate</li>\n<li>Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant facility (OSHA/L&amp;I standards)</li>\n<li>Support continuous improvement of clinic processes</li>\n<li>Maintain flexibility in daily operations by adapting to evolving patient, client, and partner needs, as well as unexpected schedule or workflow changes</li>\n<li>Be available for emergency consultations and urgent medical guidance outside of clinic hours (infrequent request but sometimes emergencies happen)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Compliance &amp; Confidentiality:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure compliance with all veterinary laws, regulations, and clinic policies</li>\n<li>Maintain strict confidentiality of client, patient, staff, donor, and volunteer information</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Equity, Access &amp; Community Commitment:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate with compassion, professionalism, and respect when serving diverse communities, including individuals experiencing financial hardship, housing instability, domestic violence, military-related challenges, disabilities, and language barriers.</li>\n<li>Apply principles of equity and inclusion in decision-making, service delivery, and team collaboration.</li>\n<li>Proactively identify and reduce barriers to care to improve access for underserved populations.</li>\n<li>Deliver services without bias or judgment, avoiding assumptions about clients’ circumstances or lived experiences.</li>\n<li>Demonstrate alignment with the mission and values of Pasado’s Safe Haven.</li>\n<li>Support and promote trap-neuter-return (TNR) programs as a core component of clinic services.</li>\n<li>Maintain flexibility and adaptability in response to changing clinic and community needs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education &amp; Experience</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree</li>\n<li>Active Washington State veterinary license</li>\n<li>DEA license (or willingness to obtain; employer covers cost)</li>\n<li>Minimum 1 year experience in a high-quality/high-volume spay/neuter setting</li>\n<li>Experience with pediatric, cryptorchid, pyometra, and late-term pregnancy surgeries</li>\n<li>Ability to perform additional procedures (e.g., enucleations, amputations, prolapse repair)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid Washington State Driver's License.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Knowledge &amp;
