The PA will work collaboratively with vascular surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients with arterial, venous, and lymphatic disorders. From award-winning chefs and fresh Maine seafood to craft breweries, waterfront dining and vibrant farmers markets, the city has become a destination for food lovers from around the world.For healthcare professionals seeking meaningful work, a welcoming community and a lifestyle centered on wellness, family and adventure, Lewiston-Auburn offers the opportunity to build an exceptional career—and an exceptional life.\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<h3>Clinical Care</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history reviews and physical examinations.</li>\n <li>Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising vascular surgeons.</li>\n <li>Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic studies, including vascular ultrasounds, CT angiography, laboratory tests, and other relevant imaging.</li>\n <li>Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care.</li>\n <li>Perform hospital rounds and coordinate inpatient management plans.</li>\n <li>Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and postoperative care.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Surgical Support</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Function as first assist during vascular surgical procedures, including open and endovascular interventions.</li>\n <li>Assist with vein harvesting, wound closure, vascular exposure, and other operative responsibilities as delegated.</li>\n <li>Participate in perioperative assessment and management of surgical patients.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Procedures</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform office-based and bedside procedures within scope of practice, which may include:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Wound debridement and wound care management</li>\n  <li>Suture and staple removal</li>\n  <li>Incision and drainage procedures</li>\n  <li>Central and arterial line management</li>\n  <li>Vascular access procedures</li>\n  <li>Ultrasound-guided interventions as credentialed</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<h3>Care Coordination</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with physicians, nurses, radiology staff, rehabilitation specialists, and primary care providers to ensure continuity of care.</li>\n <li>Coordinate referrals, consultations, and follow-up appointments.</li>\n <li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical pathway development.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Documentation and Compliance</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based clinical practices.</li>\n <li>Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.</li>\n <li>Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).</li>\n <li>Active state PA license or eligibility for licensure.</li>\n <li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.</li>\n <li>Ability to obtain hospital privileges and credentialing.</li>\n <li>Previous experience in vascular surgery, cardiovascular surgery, general surgery, or related surgical specialty.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Employment Status</h2>Full Time\n<h2>Shift</h2>Days\n<h2>Equal Employment Opportunity</h2>\n<p>Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
