    "description": "<p> At Ballinger, we are passionate about complex challenges and real-world problem solving.  Design challenges come in all shapes and sizes, and the ones we prefer test us as design professionals.  We seek out complex projects with big impact because they require us to ask tough questions, synthesize data, and push past the boundaries of existing answers into the realm of innovative solutions.  Ballinger team members thrive on those challenges because our clients do, too: our work for them enables their ambitious endeavors in science and medicine, research and government, manufacturing and technology.  Ballinger welcomes ambition with career development, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.  Here ideas will always be more important than hierarchy because they result in buildings as transformative as the missions they serve.  <br>We are currently looking for a Lab Planner to design laboratories and other science and technology-related facilities by preparing technical documents and collaborating with both Engineers and Architects to deliver an integrated set of documents.</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities:</span><br>•    Designing, analyzing, detailing, and documenting laboratories and other science and technology related facilities<br>•    Preparing technical drawings and specifications to ensure that their construction conforms to specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements<br>•    Coordinating with both architecture and engineering team members to deliver an integrated set of documents across the discipline<br>•    Generate red lines in a documentation set<br>•    Accountability for budget adherence<br>•    Act as a firm-wide resource<br>•    Contribute to Firm Standards (RUG/Technical/ Templates/Specs)<br>•    Present and provide day to day support to client and external project team<br>•    Contribute to ongoing studies for process improvement<br>•    Build on industry network, potentially through trade organizations, local events, speaking or conferences where applicable<br>•    Participate in internal committees where applicable<br>Technical Skills: <br>•    Ability to take and provide direction within a larger team<br>•    Develops design or technical solutions with broader project team<br>•    Works on large-scale or multiple projects, <br>•    Self-starter, able to independently generate design solutions and direction to other team members<br>•    Interfaces and coordinates with all disciplines during the design/coordination phases.<br>•    Participate in construction administration-related activities across the team and all disciplines<br>•    High level of responsiveness and collaboration with contractors and clients<br>•    Demonstration of targeted expertise with a key role in the firm<br>•    Demonstration of superior technical skills, dedication, and ownership of work<br>•    Proficiency of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape or other modeling software applications<br>•    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)<br>•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications<br>•    Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas<br>•    Attention to detail<br>•    Strong organizational and interpersonal skills</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements</span>:<br>•    BS/BA degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field<br>•    As a Laboratory Planner with Ballinger, you must possess superb production, analytical, and communication skills and be able to perform well in a design environment. <br>•    Highly versed with preparing full sets of design documents using Revit, Bluebeam<br>•    Minimum 5 years of experience in building design and documentation in science and technology or related building types strongly preferred<br>•    Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape or other modeling software applications<br>•    Superb production, analytical, and communication skills</p>\n<p><br> It is the policy of Ballinger to ensure equal employment opportunity without discrimination or harassment on the basis of race (including hairstyle/texture), religion, color, citizenship, national origin, sex, pregnancy, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
