Description
What You Will Do
The Maintenance Technician II is essential to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Turck’s facilities and production equipment. This role performs advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, while ensuring full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The position supports uninterrupted production through preventive and corrective maintenance, rapid response to equipment issues, and ongoing improvement of facility and equipment performance.
Perform routine scheduled and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency. Diagnose, repair, or replace defective components in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Conduct intermediate-level troubleshooting and problem-solving using appropriate tools, meters, and diagnostic techniques. Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) daily for all Plymouth locations; perform boiler water testing as required by the State of Minnesota. Execute preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on HVAC equipment including boilers, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, rooftop units (RTUs), makeup air units (MAUs), and heat pumps. Utilize SharePoint (SP) to manage work orders, maintain asset records, and track maintenance inventory. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of voltage meters, continuity testers, and other electrical diagnostic equipment. Read, interpret, and apply information from equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. Monitor inventory levels of spare parts, maintenance supplies, chemicals, and equipment; initiate re-orders as necessary to ensure availability. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and appearance of production and facility equipment. Ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals in accordance with regulatory and company requirements. Manage the production tool crib, including issuing tools and equipment, maintaining accurate usage records, and ensuring tools are returned and properly maintained. Assist with the setup, configuration, and rearrangement of production lines and equipment. Safely operate forklifts, man lifts, and rigging equipment in accordance with training, certification, and safety guidelines. Comply with all safety regulations and maintain clean, organized work areas consistent with 5S standards. Operate and fill potting machines, requiring regular lifting of materials weighing up to 70 pounds. Conduct weekly audits of the Chemical Room, implement corrective actions, and maintain required documentation and records. Demonstrate the ability to perform all responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician I role at a consistently high level. Perform other related duties as assigned. Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to heat, chemical fumes, and noise. No single environmental factor is continuously present to the extent of being objectionable. Position requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, and lifting for extended periods. Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas at all times.
What You Will Bring
Associate degree (two-year) in Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field with a minimum of two (2) years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience; OR A minimum of four (4) years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience in lieu of a degree. Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems used in production equipment. Proficiency with computer systems and maintenance management tools. Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to safely and regularly lift up to 70 pounds. chemical fumes, and noise. No single environmental factor is continuously present to the extent of being objectionable. Position requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, and lifting for extended periods. Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas at all times.
