Description

Description As a Mechanical Design Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will leverage your expertise in mechanical design and engineering principles to develop innovative and reliable repair solutions for mechanical components and systems. Your strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, processes and methodologies will ensure that the product repairs developed under your leadership meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. In this role, you will impact the development of repair solutions that meet stringent quality and performance standards for cutting-edge aerospace technologies, contributing to Honeywell’s leadership in the aerospace industry. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Tempe, AZ location on an On-site work schedule. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support production improvement projects to impact both repair and overhaul product Turn-Around-Time and Cost. Lead and drive the repair development process, from concept to implementation by designing and developing repairs for complex mechanical components and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications for product repairs as well as to substantiate repairs under development. Travel: up to 10% Qualifications YOU MUST HAVE 2+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing environment. Proven experience in advanced mechanical design engineering with strong knowledge of mechanical principles, processes and methodologies. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics. Experience in planning and executing mechanical testing and validation to verify product performance. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards to define acceptable variations in mechanical parts. WE VALUE Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage complex projects. Proficiency in engineering calculations and problem-solving. Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices. Project management experience. Experience working with electro-mechanical components (e.g. electro-mechanical actuators, solenoids, etc.). Experience working with pneumatic components (e.g. valve, actuators, etc.).
