    "jobDescription": "<p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Posting End Date</b></p>06-14-2026<p style=\"text-align:left\">Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end date.</p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Summary </b></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p>• Responsible for coordinating the implementation of environmental compliance programs, permit requirements, and corporate environmental policies, standards, procedures, and strategic goals within their assigned region, plant, and project scope.<br>• Responsible for preparing, advising, and assisting management on the administration of safety and health (S&amp;H) event prevention policies and procedures, including public safety matters.<br>• Responsible for coordinating and implementing the safety and health programs within their assigned region, or facility.<br>• Works with corporate Safety and Health management in the development and implementation of advanced safety and health training programs applicable to their geographic region or technical expertise.<p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Description</b></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p><b>What you&#39;ll do:</b></p><ul><li>Instructs, advises, and assist management and personnel to carry out the company&#39;s environmental, safety and health programs.</li><li>Prepares and delivers training and familiarization topics of the company&#39;s environmental, safety and health programs to employees</li><li>Conducts observations and coaching of AEP personnel to ensure the successful implementation of the company&#39;s safety and health programs.</li><li>Provides support during environmental, safety, and health compliance audits and inspections.</li><li>Coordinates and responds to public inquiries regarding environmental matters.</li><li>Develops and maintains environmental documents and records for compliance regulations.</li><li>Advises and assists management in post-event safety and health causal analysis</li><li>Provides support in the event of a release or discharge of a regulated substance including making any necessary agency notifications, arranging contractor support, directing clean-up efforts, and follow-up reports with regulatory agencies.</li><li>Maintains a good working knowledge of any applicable federal, state, or local rules and regulations pertaining to safety and health.</li><li>Promotes and enforces the company&#39;s safety and health event prevention programs.</li><li><b>Other requirements:</b></li><li>Proficient oral and written skills</li><li>Basic computer skills are required</li><li>Position involves daily travel with occasional overnight travel</li><li>Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and independence</li><li>Must be physically able to climb 300 feet of ladder and work on elevated platforms.  The maximum weight of the employee is 265lbs due to limitations associated with climbing safety equipment </li></ul><p></p><p><b>What we&#39;re looking for:</b></p><ul><li><b>EDUCATION</b>: Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, or another relevant field OR associate degree in a relevant field with four years of experience in power plant or utility field operations OR High School Diploma/GED with six years of experience in Environmental, Safety &amp; Health program administration and related field experience.</li><li><b>Experience:</b>  In addition to the education requirements listed, a minimum of four years of experience in Environmental, Safety and Health program administration, or a minimum of four years of experience power plant or utility field operations.</li><li><b>Licenses/Certifications:</b>    Valid driver’s license</li><li><b>Travel:</b>    Travel time ranges from 20-40% with some overnight stays required on occasion.</li><li><b>Availability:</b> Must be available by phone after work hours and weekends, contact frequency is minimal.</li><li><b>Should have an advanced understanding of the following programs and concepts:</b>• OSHA regulations • Safe electrical work practices• Clearance /Lock Out Tag Out requirements and procedures• GWO safety standards for working at heights and advanced rescue• Confined space regulations and procedures, including confined space rescue• Environmental requirements for above ground and underground storage tanks• Transportation of hazardous materials• Spill prevention control and countermeasures• Oil &amp; chemical spill response and management• Wastewater, storm water, and drinking water sampling, reporting and controls• Pollution preventing• Federal and state wildlife conservation policies</li></ul><p></p><p>At AEP, we’re more than just an energy company — we’re a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions.
